5 out of 5 eggsSolid, Powerful Card

Pros: 12 pixel pipelines, 512MB ram, 'nuff said. Plays Call of Duty 2, Battlefield 2, Half-Life 2, Rome Total War with high settings.

Cons: It does get hot, and it requires at least 350W PSU. Still AGP, but what can you do if you only have an AGP motherboard? :)

Other Thoughts: I bought a ZALMAN VF700-AlCu fan/heatsink, and the temp's fine now. I have a 400W and it runs fine with a 17" CRT monitor, mouse, keyboard, and CPU.

4 out of 5 eggsCHhhhhheaaaa

Pros: It's price. Easy installation. HL2 runs pretty good on everything maxed out... I get a max fps of 210 and a minimum of 14... it can stutter a bit when racing around on the water, but usually lingers around 60-70 fps ... but then again I only got 768 RAM, so maybe it'll go up if I get more in there. Oblivion can run on Ultra Settings, with an fps of 18 or so outdoors and about 30 indoors, on high settins runs about 28-31 outside and 37-40 indoors. Couldn't ask for more, capisce? For 133 bucks this is a steal on one of the last good AGP cards on the market.

Cons: It gets hot yes, even after I put in some arctic silver 5 and a Vf700, and it idles at around 49-50 C, and during sessions of Oblivion and HL2 and CS:S it gets anywhere up from 54-60 C.

Other Thoughts: Buy it if you're on a budget, but be prepared to drop some extra dough on a vf700 or vf900 and some arctic silver.

5 out of 5 eggsI Think I got The Wrong One

Pros: It plays latest games at highest settings including bf2!i love this graphic card!!!

Cons: there are two types of this card that are exactly the same but one or the other is a small tiny bit better. the one with reviews is called x1600 (100158l) the one that i bought is this one. i think i got x1600(1001580(ADV)L) the only difference is the advl in the end

Other Thoughts: i dont noe wich one is better take a look at their pics and compare them but i think the advl looks more complicated but the comparisons showw no advl is better supposedly. advl supports crossfire though but no advl doesnt

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: It does what it is supose to do and does it well within the limitations of APG. This will be my last APG video card as my next computer will be PCI. There is just no comparison between the two. I can play any game now at medium or high settings without freeze ups like my old ATI 9600 did. On older games, there is no difference in speed, but the newer ones really let the 1600 shine.

Cons: It does get hot, but not too hot with my case that has additional fans and a good air intake just below the APG card. If your case does not have really good airflow, consider adding additional fans.

Other Thoughts: Just trying to limp on by for a couple more years with an APG system. I don't like to have to replace computers every year just to keep up with the newer games. The box states that it requires a 350W power supply, but I'm getting along fine with a 300W that has a seperate HD power plug to connect the pigtail connection (inluded) to. If you can afford it, move on to PCI, if you can't this card will do you well with some limitations. I'm running a 3.2 P4 with 4 Gig memory, SATA HD, DVD X 2 and still no lock ups.

4 out of 5 eggsGood Buy

Pros: The price is right. If you must use AGP for now, then this card at 512 is the best you OUGHT to get. This card extended my PC's life by almost another 2 years....long enuff to have th next generation format issue settled.

Cons: It runs hot, sure....I leave my case open nowadays...so none of the temps exceed the recommended. So, I have no issues. Who cares?

Other Thoughts: This card is a good life-extender. Best price you can get. Fast Delivery too.

4 out of 5 eggs128 bit

Pros: 512 RAM, pretty dang overclockable. runs well. I play BF2 mostly, And it will handle (1280 1024 at mostly medium and AA off) and (a few on medium and shadows off light low and AAx2) This is with the clock set at 570 and the mem at 465. I used AS-5 and my idle is around 50C and under load with fan at 100% around 63C

Cons: The only thing i think is that this card is strangled by the 128 bit transfer rate. I thought this card was going to be blazing fast...but i was sadly, wrong. It was barely any better than my 6800 128MB card

Other Thoughts: it bridged the gap between AGP and PCI-e for me. Just did a $xxx upgrade to PCI-e :))

5 out of 5 eggsDUDE THIS VIDEO CARD IS AWESOME

Pros: great graphics, runs bf2, hl2, halo, cs:s, doom 3, cod2, fear, all the lates games out now and probably the next latest at high on 1280x1024 resolution about averaged on 50 fps. Last good agp. upgraded from a trusty old powercolor radeon 9250 very nice card runs cod2 maxed out

Cons: like the others said it does get hot! but only if you are like an all day pc gamer. If you only use it for like lets say six hours. It will get hot but not so hot that it will get destroyed. id say it was idle at 105 degrees fahrenheit.

Other Thoughts: i had to wait extra long for delivery because i accidentally pressed back when it was at the processing stage of when i was ordering it. otherwise newegg rocks!!!!!!! i bought this graphic card and saw that it was xxx$ in the endall totalled. then at step three of my order i cancelled it because the price went down to xxx$!! any way im very happy with this card and you will be too . here is my computer specs:
Intel Pentium 4 1.6 Ghz
1 gigabyte of ram
80 gigabytes on hard disk space
dsl connection to the internet
17 inch monitor
and a universal agp card slot
(fits any agp card)

4 out of 5 eggsThe card with a bad rap isn't so bad after all.

Pros: Great card for the price, and the final 8x AGP upgrade for me. I can live with this, the card kicks major but in HL2 Lost Coast, Doom3, Joint Operations, and Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy. I will soon put it to the test with FEAR. What's not to like?

Cons: I initially had issues with this card, from drivers, to poorly installed stock cooling, to power problems off of a 600 watt PSU. The 6.7 Catalyst and 6.5 Omega drivers both work well with this card, so that issue is resolved. The stock cooling can be fixed by the intrepid, and easily so. I pulled the HSF off, and removed the foam, which only serves to trap the heat, and not allow the HSF to make full contact with processor. Then I added some Arctic Silver and watched the magic happen. It now runs nice and cool. For the power issue, I was getting random screen corruption and system lock ups, and found that using the small 12 volt connector for the FDD closest to the top of the rail delivered consitent and clean power. Don't use the adapter, it doesn't work, and don't power the card off the bottom of the rail. Once you resolve these issues, there are no issues, other than it's not a x1900 :-p

Other Thoughts: Not a card for the unskilled! If you do not posses PC know how, stay away from this baby. It's meant for people who know how to handle hardware issues and get the maximum out of their product.

3 out of 5 eggsPoor Performance

Pros: Good at the begining but bad in the long run . This card runs hot i see
the screens distorts and alot of freezes . The fps is unstable tried new video drivers, motherboard drivers, and also bought a 600 watt psu. Well i learned my lesson and should have changed that fan when i had the chance and not wait for the rebate to do so . If i get this product again I'm gonna put a zalman on it to prevent the overheating

Cons: Bad stock fan the overheating to the card will do damage to it in the long run

Other Thoughts: Buy a Zalman VF700 cu with this card
