does what it should
- Pros: run in crossfire with a his card from same chipset family.
these cards alone will smash through most games on max setting. when crossfired you get a higher frame rate.
- Cons: not a tremendous increase in crossfire setup. but these cards will play anything on any setting on their own.
- Other Thoughts: ccc center allows to control fan so this card shouldn't run more than 30-45c at idle. you can control that.
during gaming it could go up as high as 80-90 thats normal just be mindful to set up the ccc fan profile to a higher one once you start playing. to keep it cool in the 70. fans will get loud.
Noisy
- Pros: Coming from a HIS 3850/512...runs everything (FO3, Farcry2, GTA4) I've thrown at it at my monitor's max resolution (1680x1050) at high to max quality settings.
- Cons: Fan is noisy, even at lowest setting (25%)...it's the loudest thing in my case (Antec 300).
- Other Thoughts: When I bought, I debated between this and a HIS 4870 with the IceQ cooler. But, it had free shipping and sweet combo deal for GSkill DDR3-1600 Ripjaws memory.
The noise is tolerable, but I should've gotten the HIS.
Excellent GPU
- Pros: Runs every game I have thrown at it flawlessly at 1920x1080. Incredibly fast and efficient card for gaming, movies, video editing, and pretty much anything you want to do with it!
- Cons: It is pretty loud, and runs hot. I haven't looked over any temperatures, but the room is definitely hotter with it going. Not a big issue, but it is something.
- Other Thoughts: Bought especially for a new computer I ordered--Dell XPS 435T--to replace its factory 4850. It runs on a 475 watt PSU no problem.
