5 out of 5 eggsProbably the best 6600 card ever made!

Pros: This is by far the best video card I have ever owned - ASUS is the best company period - proven time and time again... Mine is the 128mb version of the same exact card... This card will last you a very long time - My card runs at 400mhz and 550 - yeah not 7xxx series card but who freakin cares this card is Fantastic - Always and I repeat always by ASUS and you will never go wrong! 400mhz core clock and mem set to 550mhz which on mine I think 500mhz defualt... who cares this card is probably barely creeping up to 6800 performace, barely I said... I think the 6800 series card is the best card around forget SLI and anti aliasing is for the birds trust me... get this card or the 128mb version of it.... Think about it - this card is 2 years old now and still kicks wumpum booty !!! smile its ok....

Cons: Try and find one like this the 128mb version is just as good as the 256mb version....

Other Thoughts: hmmmm....... none yet!!!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat AGP card for the price

Pros: Had this card for seven months without one problem, over clocks to 438 and 550 and still runs great, plays Doom 3, Fry Cry and fear on high settings, I would buy this card again, if you want a great card at a great price this is the card for you!!!

Cons: Long card but that not a con just if you have a micro case this might not fit, only a 1/4 inch between card and hard drive

Other Thoughts: Asus, AMD and Newegg ROCKS

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent video card

Pros: Good price, good performance for AGP, good driver support under Linux.

Cons: Can have overheating problems if your case doesn't have adequate airflow.

Other Thoughts: This doesn't come with many extras like high-end video cards might, but it is still an excellent value.

5 out of 5 eggsNice AGP Card

Pros: Amazing AGP Card for the money . Plays DoD Source , Counter Strike Source , and Half Life 2 MAX Settings . Counter Strike Source Stress test Average 64 FPS (Frames Per Second) at MAX Settings !!! . Plays F.E.A.R. at Medium-High Settings .

Cons: None that I can think of .

Other Thoughts: My old Naibor had 2 6600LE's Sli with a Pentium 4 3.0 ghz CPU and 1024mb of Ram ; 25,200 Aquamark 3 . I have 1 6600 with a Pentium 4 2.4 ghz and 512mb of Ram ; 31,800 Aquamark 3 .

THE 6600 is WAY worth it !!

Still with AGP ? Get this now!!!

5 out of 5 eggsInsanely good!

Pros: Wow! I read a lot about this card in these other reviews and found some of it hard to swallow, but I have never been so happy to be wrong. This card is simply amazing. I haven't even tried playing much with SmartDoctor yet as the card runs very cool, and I've already played Battlefront 2 on full settings, F.E.A.R. and Doom 3 on almost full settings, Condemned: Criminal Origins on almost full settings, and the absolute deal-breaker...Oblivion on almost full settings! And the rig it's on is no powerhouse....a P4 2.4 ghz processor with 1 GB of DDR 400 RAM. I never thought I could see performance like this from AGP 8x.

Cons: Requires its own power dongle which isn't supplied. Also, it's rather bulky, so if you have extra fans in your case as I do, you may have to rearrange a little bit. Small price to pay for this level of performance.

Other Thoughts: Oblivion settings, since it is the game selling the most video cards these days: 800x600, 4x FSAA, full view/grass/fade settings, about half external shadows, maxxed internal shadows, high textures, bloom lighting on. Again if you have AGP and need a new card, I can't recommend this one highly enough.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: The provided program to control the clock speeds and control the cooling fan is nice and works well. The card is very quiet when idle. Even when the fan is spinning quickly, the card is still very quiet. I have been testing it with the Nvidia PureVideo mpeg2 decoder and the picture quality is great. Also tested with Flight Simulator, not a huge improvement in framerate from my ti4200 but I was able to turn up the rendering options (AA,Lighting, etc).

Cons: Haven't found any cons yet.

Other Thoughts: If you are still stuck in the world of AGP like I am, this is a great upgrade to hold you over. I am using this in an AGP 4x slot on an Intel D850EMV2 motherboard w/2.26ghz p4.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat card if you can't afford better

Pros: This is a great card. Can play CoD 2 on full graphics with no slowdown at all. The card doesn't overheat and it has a nice little utility for monitoring.

Cons: Have to have an extra power cable going to it. Not that big of a deal, but you'll want a decent PSU.

Other Thoughts: The card takes up a chunk of room, definetely not for small cases. Reminds me of video cards from the 80s with all the space it takes up. Still, it fits fine in a mid-tower.

5 out of 5 eggsawesome card

Pros: runs everything nicely...sped up my boot time slightly...definately a nice card to go for on a smaller budget...

Cons: drivers were kind of a pain...but meh...the extra power cable u hafta run to it makes the case kinda cluttery, but meh...that can be fixed...

Other Thoughts: get this card...its not as fast as these newer cards, but it still runs nicely...

5 out of 5 eggsSuperb Value - Runs Oblivion Great!

Pros: Easy install; just swapped out my old card (an Nvidia, so the latest Forceware drivers were already in place), booted up, all done. Runs Oblivion very smooth on 1024x768, 2x antialias, fullscreen with max view distance settings. Slightly older games (SW Battlefront II, Guild Wars, WoW, etc) run super-smooth on maximum possible settings.

Cons: Power supply; had a 250w in my case, replaced with a Thermaltake 430w (good value too) after reading recommendations here.
I couldn't find in documentation online (Asus website) anywhere where it says the necessary power req., was only through the messages here that I discovered the need for 300w+. In the guide in the box it says what the power req. are, so make sure you have at least a 300w power supply and as people have already said, a spare plug for the fan.

Other Thoughts: Very impressed with the value of the card. I replaced a GeForce Ti4200 128mb which didn't run Oblivion at all, not wanting to buy a whole new motherboard and such for a PCI-E slot. The install was a breeze, the card performs in every way I need without a hitch, and if you're on a budget as I am then this is the perfect card to get if you have an otherwise okay system but just can't run the latest games.

Newegg was terrific; first purchase from them and it showed up a day early!

5 out of 5 eggsJUST... WOW!

Pros: Wow! It works much better then my BFG 6600 oc. I've never bought an Asus video card before so I was a little leery. I am so glad I took a chance with this card. It totally floored me.

Cons: none
