4 out of 5 eggsEconomy-class 6800

Pros: If you're looking for a cheap video card with some beef in it and you're still using an AGP motherboard setup, then this card is for you. It plays all old-school games on maxed out settings, but its performance tends to fluncutate when we go into the WoW/Fear/BF2 types of games. 512MB memory sounds nice but don't be decieved, the clock speeds for this card are way below the norm for other 6800's. If you have another 40 bucks in your pocket go with the BFG7800GS. The performance difference is like night and day.

Cons: Overall a good video card, although unfortunately I've experienced some game-freezes with it. Don't use the software that comes with this card- just download 93.71 drivers directly off of nVidia. Oh, and also if you're tight for space, this card isn't that big (like my 7800GS which actually touches my HD).

1 out of 5 eggsGarbage

Pros: When it works, it flies. I'm running F.E.A.R. wide open.

Cons: As I stated in the "Pros" section "WHEN" it works. I have had nothing but trouble with this card. It bluescreens me about four or five times a day with the N4V.disp error. This is a thermal event error, so I purchased some heatsinks for the memory to try to fix it. It didn't work. I sent it back to ASUS, and the supposedly fixed it. I still get the blue screens. I have tried every driver I could find, and nothing fixes it. This card is junk. Save your self the money and the headache. DON'T BUY THIS CARD!

Other Thoughts: On a side note. This card does have one good feature. It's heavy, so if you need an expensive paper weight. Then this is the card to get.

5 out of 5 eggsExellant Card

Pros: Well, it's played everything I've thrown at it these past 4 months. I actually bought this card from a friend that was upgrading.
I've been mainly playing F.E.A.R. lately, and it's handling it just fine. Of course, I can't max out the graphics, but it's still going. All the affects about half way up. And resolution at 1024x768.
Also, this thing is continuously running my desktop at 1680x1050, and it's got absolutely no problem there.
Exellant card.

Cons: 128-bit GDDR2. But no complaint. It's really the only card I can afford at the moment.

5 out of 5 eggsBeautiful!

Pros: Excellent performance for AGP. 512MB and GeForce 6800 chip, what's not to like? Excellent performance for the price.

I downloaded and installed the nVidia drivers, never tried the Asus drivers. The nVidia drivers work great for me.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This card has given my old PC a new lease on life. I had considered replacing the whole machine, but with 6800 series performance for AGP 8X installed I have no complaints.

WoW at 1280x1024 on a 19" LCD is good fun. :)

5 out of 5 eggsGood buy for the price

Pros: great card for the price, can out-perform most other 6-series cards. Huge upgrade from my old 5200fx. 512MB memory is amazing ofcourse. If your on a budget and you have AGP, very good buy.

Cons: stock fan couldnt cool very well, had up to 70c temps untill I upgraded to a zalman fan, get about 55c now. AGP interface is becoming more of an artifact now-a-days.

Other Thoughts: one of the better AGP cards out there

5 out of 5 eggsSince 06/2006

Pros: Faster than the Sapphire X800GTO I got at the same time.
Works well with all Xorg, ubuntu binary and Nvidia binary drivers. runs doom3 fine at 1600 x 1200 with 4 AA, + Xgl/Compiz 3d desktop. Does not lockup on me, a concern I had with the higher clocked, newer cores, factory OC'ed and all.....

Cons: It's the most I've paid for a card,.
