- Pros: The card performed a little bit slower than my friends 6800GTOC.
- Cons: It stopped working about a week and a half after recieving it.
Fan Noise & Driver Problems
- Pros: Good overall video performance at reasonable price and ASUS stated 3 year warranty, better than on ATI branded cards, ASUS RADEON EAX800/2DTV/256M/A purchased from newegg in November
- Cons: Fan, by far, produces the greatest noise in system. Using Seasonic S12 PS, Thermaltake CL-P0114 BigTyphoon on Intel Pentium D 820 & 3 Nexus 120 mm Quiet Case Fan - Black & White case fans. The other items are near inaudible even with case open. The ASUS fan, even with auto speed control is still very noisy at standard CPU speed settings & in a well ventilated case. Looking to replace fan/cooler - a big disappointment given effort and success in keeping rest of system quietly cool.
Also had trouble with drivers, updates from ASUS helped. However, ASUS updated SmartDoctor for control of card settings and fan speed will not retain settings between boots.
- Other Thoughts: If system noise is any concern, plan to also buy a better card cooler (e.g. ATI Silencer 5, Rev. 2) or the newer quiet (fanless) version of card (e.g. ASUS EAX800 Silencer/2DTV)
I'm Not dissing...
- Pros: Not sure. Performs as good if not better then 6800GT
- Cons: No shader module 3.0.... And unfortunatly doesnt perform as fast as the 6800GS.
- Other Thoughts: I have looked at so many benchmarks, and the 6800GT and this are tied or this is higher, but the 6800GS for less money is faster! has lots of new optimizations. I would recommend it over this mostly for the shader module 3.0 support. But
this is definitly a good video card if you arnt interested about shader module 3.0. I just thought I may Inform those that dont look at lots of benchmarks.
