Gigabyte TurboForce 6200
- Comments: I bought one of these cards about three months ago, and after the initial problems with incompatability with SIS and VIA chipset due to a memory problem I finally attained an motherboard update that fixed the problem. Now the card runs great you cannot unlock any additional pipes or vertex shaders but its did overclock with rivatuner to 448 core and 580 memory although I would reccommend just running it stock unless you have good cooling. Overall running at stock I run Halo at 1024 X 768 with all setting maxed out and it never runs choppy even on 16 player server runs. My system is nothing to write home about either. This edition has higher settings than the rest of the cards shown. I would recommend this card if you arent a die hard gamer and just want to play the occasional game it runs eveything Ive thrown at it including Doom3, although I ran it at defualt settings. Newegg got it to me in good time one day early.
This card ROCKS!!
- Comments: I had tried a previous 6200, but it didn't work. This one ROCKS!! the STOCK speed on this card is 400/500!! I use the included Gigabyte VTuner2 for dynamic clocking. This is definitely the BEST 6200 AGP card. It does however require extra power, which was no problem for my Thermaltake PurePower 420W PSU w/ PFC. It actually has it's own dedicated power line!! If you want a good budget/performance card, GET THIS ONE!! There aren't going to be many NV43 AGP cards left anymore since the new NV44 came out that is natively AGP without an HSI chip. Also, the new NV44 will only be 64-bit memory while this card is 128-bit memory. GET IT WHILE IT'S STILL AVAILABLE!! (Minimum 300W PSU; get at least a 400W PSU to be safe and if possible, give the card it's own dedicated line)
great card
- Comments: this is a great card for my dell. it requires no power hookup, berserker :), and is great value for a p4 1.7ghz. it was either this or a 9600XT, and i am glad to say this card ROCKS! newegg shipped in 2 days, amazing!
