5 out of 5 eggsRead Please

Comments: I got this Card Nov 2004 and waited a while for the preview so I dont base my oppinion on first looks. Card Looks AWSOME the fan has an LED in the middle too. but its not about looks.

Yes it does run a bit hot (71C under full load) But if you get a VGA Cooler for like 20 bucks it brings down the temp alot. Comes with GREAT OCing software. I had it OCed to 400Core 1400ram for a while with no problems but it was really UNneccesary so Im running it stock now.

I get the SAME FPS in Quake4 Doom3 Farcry and WoW as my Bud who just got a 7800GT with pretty much the same CPU and Ram as me. This Card has not yet come accross a Game it Cant run at MAX setting with a lower FPS than 100. (dips to 70 at WoW but thats due to not enough system ram not cuz of the card).

4 out of 5 eggs

Comments: This card pushes some awesome speed and sick graphics even when not over clocked, the only problem is the cooling(depending on the game your playing). I recomend getting the NV Silencer 5 (Rev. 2) VGA cooler for it.

4 out of 5 eggsupdate

Comments: I wrote the review below about this card overheating. Well, despite the ineffectiveness of the heatsink, the actual COMPONENTS on the card are unbelievable! I watercooled this card and temps dropped over 20C. I think tried to use RivaTuner to detect optimal frequencies, and it came back 437/1160 !!!! Thats with air-cooled RAMsinks. Thats faster than the 6800Ultra OC models. Furthermore, optimal frequencies are NOT the maximum stable frequencies - they back off just to be sure. No voltage mods, no BIOS mods. I played BF2 for hours at this setting and it ran like a champ with no problems. So, in summary, a great piece of hardware with less-than-impressive cooling. If you're going to watercool or use some other cooling product, this may be your best option.

2 out of 5 eggsinadequate cooling

Comments: This card gets incredibly hot. The cooler provided by gigabyte on this card LOOKS like it does the job, but I found out that looks can be deceiving. Every piece of the heatsink does not have the best connection with the other, which means the heat doesnt go all over very well. The fan, located on the top, is almost useless; cooling an area that gets the LEAST heat. The bottom, though impressive looking, has minimal/incidental contact with the pipe fixture, but mostly cools the RAM. I had to buy a Zalman pci-slot cooler with 2 fans shooting up and this thing just to keep it manageable for my gaming. Now with BF2, forget about it. Artifacting and skyrocketing temps. I aleviated this a little by taking the whole thing apart and using Arctic Silver 5 on every possible connecting piece. This gave me about 3 degrees better idle/load temps, but its not enough. I cant have AA/AF turned on in BF (which can run superbly) without heat becoming an issue within 2-3 minutes. I ordered a watercooling kit (which will around shortly) MOSTLY for this GPU. Everything about the card is great, but get a new heatsink if you must buy this brand.

5 out of 5 eggsLove this card!

Comments: This card is awesome; easily OC's to Ultra speeds and beyond with a voltage increase ON STOCK COOLING!! Runs HL2 to the max setting at least sixty fps peaking at over hundred-thirty! I also replaced the stock paste with Artic Silver 5 and can run at 1.4v at 440/1165 can’t wait till I mount my water block later this week!!

Great card definite must have for those who can’t shell out $$ bucks on a 7800 will run any game on the market!

5 out of 5 eggsSweet card for the money

Comments: The heatsink on this card is MASSIVE, and the fan is a little loud, but for how cool it runs it is worth it. Overclocked to ultra speeds and never gets above 60C! That is insane for a stock heatsink. The only problem is that the heatsink is so big that it would most likely cause problems with SLI. The intake fan would be right on the bottom of the other heatsink. That just means that I have to upgrade to the waterblock heatsinks for the Coolance Aquagate system. DARN:)

I am in Iraq right now and I had all of the parts shipped to me APO which should take two weeks, but never takes more that 10 days. They also protect the products nicely because everything I recieved had trashed shipping boxed, but the boxes for the goods were unscratched. THANK YOU NEWEGG!

5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: Awsome. Just awsome for the price, this card has one of the best cooling systems so you can overclock it to ultra speeds without ANY problem while saving the extra $$. Looks amazing to the Fan has blue LED lights on it and with the tubes looks awsome. DOOM 3 everything maxed out = never below 120fps ingame. Half-Life 2 everything maxed out stress test = 158 fps. Need I say more?

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent performance

Comments: This card is pretty incredible. I ran into a small issue with mine as it stopped working after about six months. But, even the best cards can fail. Otherwise, this is the best card I've ever used.
