4 out of 5 eggsDecent Card

Pros: Gets me what I need on a budget. Plays HL2 full settings. Works decent with ES4: Oblivion, which is a very graphics intense game. Can play with medium-high settings. Overall good purchase.

Cons: Anti-aliasing gets a little rocky with Oblivion though.

5 out of 5 eggsIncredible Value!

Pros: Card specs...you've seen them. Price. 25k 3dMark01, 10.4k 3dMark03, 4.5k 3dMark05. Play Q4, D3, BF2, SS2, HL2 all 10x7 with meduim graphics. Not a PSU killer either. Ran Perfectly in my older rig with a 350WT PSU and tons of peripherals.

Cons: Card specs...you've seen them. Slower memory clocks b/c of ram used, 128MB itself is starting to show to be subpar for newer games.

Other Thoughts: I got this card a little over 10 months ago and it's been a great card for me. I've had no problems with it, and it has great in game performance, and benchmarks are certainly respectable for this price bracket. It was 140$ back then, and I would buy it again now for 50 bucks less!

4 out of 5 eggsDecent "budget gamer" card

Pros: Handles HL2 and FarCry with max settings nearly flawlessly; doesn't require 4-pin molex from power supply; 256-bit PCI-E.

Cons: Issues with stock cooler (see thoughts below); no shader model 3.0 support; no temperature sensor; memory can become very hot.

Other Thoughts: When I first installed this card, it ran great, until I fired up FarCry for 10 minutes - then it locked up. After a lot of hassle, I find out that the stock heatsink/cooler thermal pad is barely making contact with the GPU. I tightened it up a bit, but to no avail. I eventually ordered a Zalman cooler with some Artic Silver and now there are no problems. Had this issue not happened I would have given the card a rating of 5. That said, it is what it is - a good budget gaming video card.

3 out of 5 eggsNot a Great Deal

Pros: As a card, it performs okay...runs hl2, doom 3, and bf2 at 1024x768 on high with no AA with only a little lag

Cons: it isn't a good deal at all. you it has only 128Mb and a pretty low clock speed, which is very important. my reccomendation is to go with a x800GTO or a x1600pro instead, which are both MUCH better deals.

Other Thoughts: I got a 3D mark '06 score of 3600, whereas i got a 4300 on the x800GTo and a 4550 on the x1600pro

2 out of 5 eggsInefficient use of space on bracket

Pros: My mom will be able to do her work.

Cons: DVI Connector on the bracket was very low on the botttom end, it was blocking the card from being firmly installed onto the case and motherboard.

Rise of Nations and World of Warcraft crash and reboot after 3-10 minutes of play. I suspect the video card is at fault. System is extremely powerful and stable in non-gaming applications.

Other Thoughts: If you are looking for a mid/low-end video card, try looking at something else.

The primary user of the computer that I built won't be playing games though, so in the end, this card seems to be an effective low-profile card.

2 out of 5 eggsI'm am not impressed

Pros: Price
Easy to Install
Plays Call of Duty 2 suprisingly well

Cons: Where could I start. Lets see this card has given me trouble since the day I recieved it. I play quite a few games, Warcraft 3 is one of my favorites. I thought this card could more than handle it, turns out I was wrong. The game would lag like crazy even on the lowest settings. I got similar results from Doom 3, FEAR, Empire Earth, Unreal Tournament 2004, and many other games. Call of Duty 2 was the only one that worked well. So I RMA'd the card, which was quite a task when dealing with MSI. I finally recieved it a week later than they told me and not even in the original box with hardly any packing material. Regardless I installed it and absolutely no difference. So I thought I would try an experiment I popped in an old PCI geforce 2 mx200 and WC3 and Empire Earth preformed flawlessly. Also I tried the card out prior to writing this review and after loading windows the screen went blank you could hear the sounds of everything you clicked on but no image.

Other Thoughts: I hope MSI will give me a refund or something.

My system:
MSI K8N Neo4-F
AMD Athlon 64 3000+
1GB PC 3200 Corsair Value Select RAM
WD SATA I 7200RPM HDD

3 out of 5 eggsPrice is what you get

Pros: It does moderately well at rendering battlefield 2 on all medium (No AA / AF) at 10x12.
It screams through half life 2 games (If you want HDR you have to sacrifice the AA) AA will run on DOD:S up to 6x and AF will run 8x with very little performance hit.

Cons: No OC'ing ability
Cant unlock pipelines
The cooling isnt done well at all
The fan failed and burnt up the card, MSI support is not helpful at all.

Other Thoughts: This card is now obsolete though, the x series wiped this out. But if your in a bind or are still in the dx 7 era of cards, this would be a good upgrade

5 out of 5 eggsGood

Pros: Very good for the price.....runs most of the best games in modreate medium/high settings....cause of ati owns hl2.....but domm3 is an another story

Cons: not much...but msi's servers are in china or something...getting the 64 bit drivers is hard...and fan is a little loud when it comes out of standby but setteles down in like 10min, a little tap get it done in an instant

Other Thoughts: ya just pay a little more and get a crossfire ready 16 pipeline card for ati or an sli ready 6800 and unlock the last quad for 16 pipelines

4 out of 5 eggsNot bad

Pros: I like the love voltage use, as well as the performance. It works well with Counterstrike source and im able to support all antialiasing and no video lag.

Cons: It is a bit massive for a video card, i was surprised how big it was when i got it and about fainted when it fit in the slot, though it did take up all the room for one of my pci slots. The only bad part about this card is I dont seem to have an overdrive option like i do on all my other x series ATI cards :(

Other Thoughts: i have a 200watt powersupply and it works fine with everything i have so evidently it doesnt really suck that much juice
