Great deal
- Pros: Great deal. I purchased a cheap Dell with the intention of playing UT2004, and this card was perfect. You're gonna be hard pressed to find a better deal for a card with 128bit memory bus and at least 8 pipes. And considering Dell wanted $40 for a crumby 7300LE with 64bit memory bus, this card was a no brainer.
- Cons: No memory heat sinks, so I'm hesitant to overclock the memory to GT levels. Other that, I have no complaints.
- Other Thoughts: If you can spare another 30 or 40 bucks, you can get 7600 series card. Similar specs, but it's a generation newer.
Budget Beauty
- Pros: Bought this to go with my new budget build, and I'm not disappointed. Doesn't run everything at max resolution with all the details turned to high, but it certainly plays games and they look nice. With MSI's overclock tuner in their version of the drivers, gave me an 'optimal' overclock to 350/600.
- Cons: 3 year old technology.
- Other Thoughts: I couldn't find it listed anywhere what the difference between MSI's 'TD128E' and the 'TD128E Lite' (this product). The box it came in doesn't say Lite. It doesn't appear to be small. I don't get it.
Also, I couldn't find the speeds for this particular card wherever I looked. For anyone wondering, they're the basic 300/550.
Great card, especially for the money
- Pros: More than adequate speed, HDTV out, DDR memory, worked without problems (at least for me)
- Cons: none
- Other Thoughts: If you care about PLAYING games more than getting maximum fps with maxed out anti-aliasing and filtering, then this is a perfect card. Given enough processor speed and ram, it can easily play most games with more than enough speed and visual flare (I have played through Doom3, half life 2, and unreal tournament 2004 all on maxed out or nearly maxed out settings without slowdown). If you care more about what numbers your computer can churn out, you should look in the $xxx range.
