Worked for 1 Week
- Pros: Card worked great right out of the box. Was able to set my Flight Simulator and Rappelz game to maximum settings and there was no lag.
- Cons: Card stopped working after 1 week. Had to pay to ship card back for RMA. Now waiting on replacement part.
Kind of disappointing after spending a large sum on the card.
- Other Thoughts: Newegg Staff was very helpful in providing prompt and helpful service. For the RMA of the product.
Works, but needs tweaking
- Pros: Very fast, very large onboard ram, crossfire abilities, good drivers with support software
- Cons: Issues with sound cards, support software could be beefier, takes up two pci-e slots (common amongst vid cards)
- Other Thoughts: I bought this with a massive rebate and it works great! Allows me to max out everything on Oblivion and F.E.A.R. and still enjoy the games.
I faced many hours of frustration, however, with sound as my sound drivers and this video card don't like each other (attempted onboard mobo card and currently using 7.1 SoundBlaster card). Apparrently this video card and whatever sound card I choose to use conflict with each other, resulting in games not loading and crashing in the first 5-10 seconds of loading any game. The work now after lowing all system sound levels to 20% (speaker sound levels way up). Sound is still good and unnoticable.
I haven't encountered anyone else with this sound problem, so it might just be my system.
Installation was easy and worked right away. Do download the new drivers and software.
Newegg is the best ever!!!
- Pros: Most of the pros is because I bought this as an open box item from Newegg. However, it came with everything that a normal retail card would come with. Even the installation manuals and all the software was included. Not to mention the card is awesome! I have been running BF2142 with everything maxxed out on my 42" Westinghouse monitor and the average FPS is around 70. Also have been running Neverwinter Nights 2 at 1920x1080 on the same monitor with all effects on and the card just chugs along.
The stock cooler is loud when running at top speed, but I played BF2142 for three hours and I could not hear the fan on the cooler running. I have pretty good airflow in my case, but the stock cooler is very nice compared to some others I have seen.
I was running 2x 7600GT's and this card is easily better than my previous SLI setup.
- Cons: I am just sad I don't have the money to buy another card to complete my system.
- Other Thoughts: I must say I took a gamble with an open box item, but I guess I lucked out. I have tried to stress the card since I have received it and it handles everything I throw at it. I haven't overclocked it because I am running it in an HTPC setup. However, I might try and see how much I can get out of the card just so I know its limits.
