3 out of 5 eggsWorked Great! For a while...

Pros: Great price
Great performance
Quiet

Cons: One of the fans quit working right after the 3 year warranty mark and now the card is failing.

Other Thoughts: My biggest complaint is that one of the twin fans went out about a month after I was out of warranty. Now the card runs hot and is starting to fail. Looks like I will be buying a new card soon. Will probably get one similar to this one as it was a good card until the fan went out.

Manufacturer Response:

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card lasted 3 years still goign strong

Pros: This card has ran strong going on 3 years....the MSI MOBO I comboed it with burned out...so went back to Asus....which I have always bought but got such a good deal that I went with the MSI board....but this card is still goign strong....although it might not max out every setting the fact that I have never had a problem with the card can easily play all games no problem...makes it money well spent!

Cons: None

5 out of 5 eggsThe right choice

Pros: I got one of these cards back in August 2010 after my old one burned up (Crysis was a demanding game). I did a lot of research to find a card that would perform well and last me awhile, yet not burn a hole in my wallet. Whilst it couldn't max out Crysis at a playable FPS (honestly, what card back then could with that game) it still performed like a champ. But this is why I wrote this review:

Here I sit, over two years later, playing Skyrim on a tweaked 'Very High' setting in 1080p and 4x AA with at least 20 mods running and textures 4x crisper than vanilla (texture resolutions @ 2048x2048)...and I'm *still* getting 30+ FPS? I'd have never believed this card could still compete in 2013 if someone told me back when I chose it. Far Cry 3? On 'High' @ 1080p, 25+ FPS. Deus Ex Revolution; Maxed out @ 1080p, always buttery smooth. Dishonored, Maxed out. You get the idea.

Most games that auto-detect graphics determine that this thing can handle 'Very High' or Maxed from the start.

I'm a digital artist too; Photoshop CS5 and Painter 11 perform like a dream on this card.

I'm actually considering finding another one of these to SLI if I can, though it's age makes that somewhat difficult.

Cons: It's a shame that the card is stuck in DirectX 10, because DX11 would've extended the longevity of this card even more. Also, the card can run very hot if not ventilated properly (mine wasn't at first) but the dual fans help a lot. Overall, these are nit-picky gripes and do not detract from the value this card brings.

Other Thoughts: I just wish cards like this, great performance at a great value that will last for years, were easier to find nowadays.

5 out of 5 eggs2560x1600 No Questions

Pros: Been using this close to 3 years now. Finally got around to getting my dream monitor - the Dell 3011 30-inch. What a dream THIS is to work on! Well, I simply plugged in the monitor using a single DVI cable and Windows instantly recognized the max resolution of 2560x1600 and it made the switch. I didn't even have to adjust the resolution myself. This card runs it with no issues. Granted I'm not doing games at this rez, photo editing, but the card handles it spot-on!

Cons: None.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card!

Pros: This card runs every game I throw at it and runs them very well at that. I have ran Battlefield 3 on it and it runs like a champ. This is a very good card!

Cons: The only con is that the fan is a tad bit noisy.

2 out of 5 eggs1yr later

Pros: more for the software, but the MSI afterburner is awesome. can crank up the graphics, save fan speed % at X*, user defined profiles, very nice suite. the card itself looks pretty cool, like headers on an engine.

Cons: i am on my 3rd one. RMA'd about a month after first assemble, then again in 6m. now the 3rd card has started to go out. im done with it, moving on to 560ti.

Other Thoughts: if your a MSI diehard, its not bad. probably better now since the price has gone down over the year time. However, be ready to talk with MSI's customer support.

4 out of 5 eggsGets the job done

Pros: Ive been able to run any game at max with at least 30fps. Installation was easy and the programs it came with are awesome.

Cons: The fans get LOUD when the card warms up. Loud loud loud. Thats only when playing games though otherwise you dont hear it.

Other Thoughts: I would like to purchase a PCI slot cooler. Because below my gcard there is no ventilation.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card for the price

Pros: Its a great card for the price. Playing the RIFT beta on ultra graphics with 4xAA at 20 FPS. It will get the job done and do it cheap.

Cons: Problems with it locking up and crashing my computer. Only does it when i restart or reboot. I just disable and reenable the driver for the card and start up the afterburner software it came with and it runs just fine in all applications.

Other Thoughts: Just bought a GTX 460 going to use the card i just bought and this one in SLI and see what i can crank out.

5 out of 5 eggsLove it

Pros: Love this card, I'm running Crysis and Fallout 3 on high and maxing Borderlands and Dragon Age, 1920x1080. The 2 fans are great, they keep the card cool, and aren't too loud.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: This was my first graphics card for my first gaming computer, and I love it!

2 out of 5 eggsMostly works, occasional lock-ups.

Pros: Works well most of the time, very fast on my Win 7 i5 machine.

Cons: Locks-up once every week or so, with a checkerboard pattern. Complete OS stop, have to re-boot to recover.

Other Thoughts: Problem will likely lead me to consider a different mfr. for next video card purchase.
