Good produce, bad rebate
- Pros: Extremely low Power Usage. 5W on idle, and 17W under 1080p video.
Fast enough for 1080p Flash Videos on my old Athlon 64 3200+.
- Cons: It has been 2 months, and I still don't have my rebate. I was meticulous when doing it, and was never contacted. Can't find there contact information. So -2 star, but would've been a 5 star otherwise. Oh well, guess I'll never trust rebates from MSI.
MythTV
- Pros: Great price, passive cooling, HDMI out, Handles 1080p without a problem. Low-profile-ready might a be a another pro for some.
- Cons: Maybe the large cooler, but none, so far.
- Other Thoughts: I replaced a passive cooled Asus GeForce 8400 that did not have HDMI out. I had to use a DVI->HDMI converter with the old card. This is much better. I have not experimented with trying to get audio out of the HDMI port. I use spdif optical audio anyway, so not a priority.
BTW... it easily fit in my Silverstone htpc case, which is notorious for being a tight fit. This card is not too deep - it's mostly just wide; it does use up two expansion slots.
Great little video card
- Pros: This is a great little video card for running a high definition television. Worked great right out of the box with my Asus P7P55D-E. No fan so it stays very quiet however you will want to make sure your case stays cool because of the extra heat. Works great so far.
- Cons: The only problem I see is that the heat sink takes up a little bit more space which makes it harder to use a lot of expansion slots. I am only using two expansion slots so it's not an issue for me with the Rosewill Challenger case.
