5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Excellent graphics for AGP.

Cons: AGP, as stated above.

Other Thoughts: You must do a clean install, can't just upgrade. Use drivers on disc. It Will work.

1 out of 5 eggsCRASH CRASH CRASH

Pros: Specs are great (one of the highest for an AGP card)

Cons: I have owned 2 of these cards, first a 256mb, now this one. The first one crashed ALOT so I upgraded to this one thinking maybe I would have better luck considering the specs. But boy was I wrong!! They have come out with several updates but non have corrected the problem that plagues these cards CRASHING ALL THE TIME!! I owned an x1600 that was great! But this is junk...please DO NOT waste your money! Actually if you want mine I'll send it to you for 50 bucks and a piece of

4 out of 5 eggscool card!

Pros: It had dual link and will support Vista Home Deluxe on a 30" dual link monitor. WOW! I paid $300 for a card a year ago just to get that capability. My Vista Experience hit 4.3 -- the same rating as with the $300 card.

Cons: I went to the Visiontek site. Nailed my card, that is, Zeroed in to the 2600Pro on their site and grabbed their drivers. THAT is the way to go. I used the Install New Hardware Wizard at first and the Vista performance was 1.0.
I am telling you you need the Catalyst Control system and all that.

Other Thoughts: No remorse. It was an interesting learning session. It took too long to be rated five stars as the anxity of the disc I got in the box was too much and I spent a couple hours trying everything and feeling ripped off.

All is good now.

I WOULD get Visiontek AGAIN now that I know they have a good support site.

1 out of 5 eggsDon't buy this card

Pros: I wanted a cheap card, to possible use in a server - bought this from a major brick and mortar store for $25.
The rated specs look nice, and thought it might be a decent update to my Nvidia 6800.

Cons: ATI should be sued over this card - either support this chipset, on AGP with proper drivers, or don't bother. What should've been a simple upgrade, for running HD video (we all know, it's not a gaming card), but doesn't even work for that. It has driver crashes when playing back WMV files. Unstable, unstable, unstable - it's complete junk.

Other Thoughts: System is running Vista Business SP 1, with an Athlon 64 X2 3800+, 2 GB DDR, 450 W PSU. I put the 6800 back in my system, and everything works again.

2 out of 5 eggsATI dropped the ball on this card

Pros: For the 10 minutes this card runs for it runs like a dream even on my aging AMD Athlon 3200+ system

Cons: Then it crashes. The card is unstable. Viosiontek confirm that my hardware is capable of running the card except my nforce 2 IGP chipset and BIOS drivers are from 2004. But there are no available updates for either. ATI don't even have drivers for the AGP version of this card on their site.

Other Thoughts: Minimum specs for this card are AMD Athlon/ Pentium 4. 300W power supply.

I have 450W FSP PSU and an Athlon 3200+ so my PC meets and exceeds minimum specs. If the card won't run because of a chipset BIOS then really viosiontek need to do something about this with a driver OR realise that their minimum specs are wrong. In the meantime I've spent $120 on a junk card and $70 on a new PSU capable of running it. This card is famous for its problems simply because ATI/AMD can't be bothered to support it.

I think they will find losing yet another long standing customer.

5 out of 5 eggsPiece of cake

Pros: Easy quick install. AGP for my older mobo w/o having to upgrade. Actually bought the 256MB version from retailer, and took longer to unhook/open my system than to install drivers. Really glad DVI to VGA adapter included.

Cons: Haven't ran into any yet.

5 out of 5 eggsGet "AGP hotfix" from ATI

Pros: see below

Cons: see below

Other Thoughts: ATI does not support the HD2xxx chipset on AGP any more with the "Windows Hardware Qualified" drivers. Get the hotfix from the ATI site here:

5 out of 5 eggsexcellent card

Pros: The drivers installed and the card works excellent. With the limited options available for AGP, this is one of the best choices. It performs about the same as a 7800GS, which was selling for a lot more. Plays Bioshock good. This is one of the best AGP options, and it also offers DirectX 10.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Great card for agp.

1 out of 5 eggswanted to upgrade..

Pros: Installed very smoothly, drivers from ATI's site were able to install without problems. ATI's software was very nice as well. Easy over clocking and quick setup. HD-DVD and Blu ray playback.

Cons: If I wasnt an avid gamer it would be great.

Other Thoughts: tried it out to see if it would surpass an 8600gt. on 3d mark 03,05, and 06 it ate the 8600's dust. not even close to a gaming card. I will hold on to it, only to put in when I start burning blu rays..

1 out of 5 eggsThis card is (Censored)

Pros: Seems like a cheap upgrade for an aging system. Supports HD 1080i T.V. out.

Cons: Not a gaming card. Not in the slightest. I "Upgraded" from a 256 mb X850 pro. I should have kept my X850. The specs seem decieving. You may look at the memmory size, bus speeds, supported graphics API's, and core clock and go "WOW this card is alot better than my old one" Guess what? Unless your using a GeForce MX400 your most likley mistaken.

Other Thoughts: This card produces excellent frame rates in homogenous situations. However as soon as something starts to happen on screen, or you turn your view towards some water, fire, smoke, or any other type of DX9 API Special effect you start chopping like a sushi chef. This card cannot render shadows at high frame rates. I supports 16x temporal anti alaising BUT I OPENLY DEFY YOU to find a situation where it's playable.

I"m going back to Nvidia. I'll never stray again.
