- Pros: easy to install. great graphics
- Cons: none
Great Card... when it lasted
- Pros: I've had this card for 8 months and have nothing but great things to say about it until now. I could run any program I wanted on max settings (Oblivion, CS:S, GTA:SA, Dark Messiah). Unfortunately this all came to a sudden ending a few weeks ago.
- Cons: As I was saying, my card has broken on me. I haul my PC around to all sorts of LAN Parties and the card couldn't take it as one of the capacitors came lose and fell off the card. It is because of this weakness that I do not give the card a 5.
Blows away my old 6800gs AGP
- Pros: 512MB Gddr3. Pcie 16x. Great affordable price point. Could do 2 of them in SLI for the cost of some single 8800 model cards! Ati tool displays around 600fps average over my old 6800gs which displayed 300fps average. Haven't benchmarked it enough to give more results than that, but it's like night and day now when playing Far Cry and spiderman3. EVGA allows a 90day trade up program. Give back your card and Pay the difference for a higher model one! Cool!
- Cons: No dx10 support yet, but there aren't much dx10 games I guess yet anyways. The fan could be considered loud when it is on full. I am NOT a silent pc person myself, I run however many fans I have to and at whatever speeds they need to be at to keep my case cool, because of my investment in these parts, its worth a LITTLE bit of noise pollution from my pc. Anyways, I wanted to put on my old Artic Cooling NV silencer 5 revision 2, and it didn't fit perfectly, Like some people claimed it would. The stock cooling fan seems sufficient enough, but I'd like a nicer fan system that vents air out of the case, rather than recirculating it inside the case. Only gripe so far.
- Other Thoughts: I have been using a Geforece 6800GS that was overclocked to the 6800 Ultra specs, as well as unlocking the pipelines from 12 to 16, and I was happy with it for a long time. Now that It's just impossible to find AGP motherboards anymore that are worth anything, I just had to go up to PCI-E. After doing my research, I decided this card is a HUGE performance upgrade from my 6800, and it didn't break my bank! Side by side of the two cards show the improvements in specs, and when you play a game, the visuals speak for themselves.
Great deal here!

Introduction
Here's a video card for the gamer, engineer or artist with high standards. Using a GeForce 7950GT processor clocked at 600 MHz with 24 pixel pipelines, 512MB GDDR3 memory (with memory bandwidth of 46.4 GB/sec), you're not talking "slow display" here!
It has dual DVI connectors (with adapters so they can be used on VGA-style monitors), and an integrated TV encoder putting out HDTV, S-Video or Composite Video. SLI-ready (so make certain your power supply can handle it!), it features HDR (High Dynamic Range) for ever more realistic lighting and display effects. PCI Express support to keep up with that fast GPU, it's Vista ready and can display a resolution of 2560 x 1600 on two simultaneous displays.
The next generation of games and hi-res HDR applications is here already, so update to a card that knows how to talk to them.
