5 out of 5 eggsStill going since 2004!

Pros: In memory of this card I had to stop by and post this. I used this in 2004 heavily for gaming, used it in a secondary rig after, then shortly after that it laid around for a few years. Later a friend asked me to build a PC for their mother to use for facebook and email. I had spare parts and put this in. To this day it is still going strong. For the past 4 years now from today its been on constantly in this persons machine.

Only issue I had was because it was so old the thermal paste had to be replaced. Its still using the original heatsink/fan!

BEAST!

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Great card at the time for games. Lasted me 5+ years (then I gave it away) EVGA is great!

Cons: It couldn't keep up with the newer games so I had to get another graphics card. It would get hot.

Other Thoughts: I mainly look for EVGA brand cards. I'm not saying that others won't work. I would rather say that a graphics card was out dated so I got a newer one then say I got a new graphics card because the other one died.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Never got it up running

Cons: Came DOA

Other Thoughts: Probably an aberation... this board came DOA. The fan never started when I fired the PC up after install, so I guess the chip fried. I'm sure it doesn't happen often... but Newegg was great and sent me a new board (an XFX 7800GT) and I received it the following day!!

2 out of 5 eggsTO FORMER REVIEWER: WHAT!?

Pros: yes the card is a good card. it outdoes the x800xl in most benches and evga is know for their quality BUT...

Cons: This is SOOO not the best deal out there right now. The reason i am submitting this review is because this is a very very helpful review. I know prices are subject to change but as of the date of this post this card is just plain overpriced!!

Other Thoughts: Anybody willing to pay what this card is currently being offered for needs to be informed that the next generation cards (more recent model and faster) are available in that price range or cheaper.

5 out of 5 eggsLoved it!

Pros: Best deal out there for under $300, that I've seen. Runs all my software at full settings!

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: Can't wait for a 2nd monitor to hook up to it.

4 out of 5 eggsBeautiful graphics, but runs HOT!

Pros: Great video and graphics. Smooth gameplay. No problems running any games I've tried so far.

Cons: This card runs hot! My GPU idled at 65 degrees! Under load it would get up to 88-92 degrees. I contacted tech support and they said it was ok up to 100 degrees.

Other Thoughts: I replaced the stock cooler with an Arctic Cooling NV5. My idle temps dropped to 52 degrees and my load temps dropped to 64 degrees. I would highly recommend the Arctic Cooling NV5 as a replacment to the EVGA stock cooler to anyone experiencing high temps with this card.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat buy!

Pros: -Upgraded from the GeForce 5200 and this card lets me play Counter Strike: Source on all max settings, 1600*1200 16x AF and 4x AA. F.E.A.R. runs at around 35 FPS with setting on med/max. Call of Duty 2 also runs at med/max settings at average 40 or so FPS (wide range though).
-I have the AGP version of this card, so this is pretty much the best you can get with an AGP port.

Cons: -You'll need to upgrade your power supply if you're still using a year old 250 watt one, like I was. I now have it running on a 420 watt PSU.

Other Thoughts: My system specs:
-Intel Pentium 4 2.66GHz
-512MB [256x2] DDR SDRAM
-This card
-80GB ultra ATA hard drive

Thanks to Newegg/FedEx for getting this to me nice and fast, as usual.

2 out of 5 eggsOVERPRICED!

Pros: It is a good card. Plays bf2 all on high quite comfortably.

Cons: BUT...It is overpriced! Right now 7800gt's are going for around XXX$. And I just got one for even cheaper than that. Check out neweggs EVGA 7800gt's. I can't imagine why someone would look at the 6800gt's right now. I wouldn't even look at 6800gt's until they are well under the price of 7800gts.

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT CARD

Pros: GREAT CARD! I haven't had any problems with it. It runs anything I put on it with no prob.

Cons: NONE

Other Thoughts: I'm running an AMD Athlon 64 3800+, 2 Gb RAM, Audigy 2 ZS Gamer, 2 160 7200RPM Gb HD's, all on a AV8 mobo
