Good low-end card
- Pros: It's a cheap card for the performance you get. Good if you don't have an AGP slot on your motherboard but want to run some older games. If you do have an AGP slot, get an AGP card instead.
- Cons: It works as I expected, so no major complaints. Again, get an AGP card if you have an AGP slot.
- Other Thoughts: I installed it on my wife's Dell Dimension 2400 (which has a 2.4 GhZ Celeron and no AGP slot) so that it would run World of Warcraft. On low settings, it consistently gets about 20 to 30 FPS, which is playable but not grand. So it accomplishes what I want it to. It won't be good for you if you want to run anything more demanding than WoW, but for WoW and games with similar requirements, it will at least be playable.
Garbage
- Pros: Can't think of a single one
- Cons: Not fast enough to do anything. These cards should be outlawed. Intel GMA950, X3000, and X3100 are way faster than this card. What a waste of money.
- Other Thoughts: I suppose that it's my fault for hoping that a PCI card would actually improve performance. I am just very dissapointed that when I put the card in and loaded the drivers my performance went backwards. It's a good thing this was only for my kids computer. Please don't buy this.
Works great for what I needed.
- Pros: GeForce FX 5500 with 128MB DDR RAM. Low profile. Has great picture on a 32" tube TV. Comes with a DVI port with an adapter for VGA monitors, plus a S-Video port, which is what I use.
- Cons: Its a PCI card, but that is all I could use for the PC I put it in. Basically no cons that I could see.
- Other Thoughts: I just needed a PCI video card for my custom built DVR system that I have for my TV. Have not played any games on it as it is just for my TV. Like the title says "works great for what I needed".
