Great Card
- Pros: The card has a great price vs performance ratio comapired to it's equal. Good picture quality and good frame rates. Have not yet started to OC anything yet. Need a stronger PSU.
- Cons: No power connector, draws all of it's power from the MB (12v). ATI drivers can be buggy. A Crossfire setup will require at least 36amps on the +12V rail for most config to be on the safe side.
- Other Thoughts: I have alway been a Nvidia fan but this card actually does what it's designed to do and then some. Crossfire x3200 MB, 165 Opt, 512mb Patriot Ram, 520G dlink WIFI, 2 SATA HD, 2 DVD, 420W TT PS.
not bad!
- Pros: I'm playin Quake4 at 1280x740, high quality, no AA, 4xAF at 60fps. I could play at 1680x1050 at 30fps, but I like the butter smooth 60fps. Considering this card costs so little, not bad! I have a mobo with the ATI 3200 chipset, I don't know if that helps things too much or not.
- Cons: I dont blame PowerColor, I blame ATI for this: confusing drivers. It wants to install the ATI console and the Catalyst console at the same time, but only one of the two is allowed on the system at a time... Ive had to reinstall things a few times. I can't get the buttery smooth frame rate I talked about above with antialasing.
- Other Thoughts: The heatsink is held on by a spring system that jets out the back of the card. Don't plan on putting another expansion card right behind this one.
this works
- Pros: Plays all the games I want and does quite well with Maya and other 3d applications even though it's not a $xxxx Quadro of FireGL.
- Cons: For my uses, none.
- Other Thoughts: Most powerful of all my GCs, If you don't have the dough to spend on a high end GC, this is a great add on to your current setup.... it's all relative to what you previously own. I had a cheapo X300. This blows it outta the water but again, it's all relative.
