5 out of 5 eggsGreat Budget Card.

Pros: Good Card for budget gamer, runs cool... Good temp card till next pc build.

Cons: Had to get a new PSU But the one I had was cheap anyway.

Other Thoughts: I bought this when my old video card started dieing on me. I like many others didn't have the pocket change for another good card so this did the trick.

5 out of 5 eggsSolid Card

Pros: Very Solid Card. Picked it up so I could play World of Warcraft. Have had no problems at all, it picks up major for my previous junkie 1.0ghz processor. No glitches, No crashes.

Cons: Can be a little noisy if you have a smaller case. Since I upgraded the case, no problems at all, can barely tell its there.

Other Thoughts: If you want a good video card to get you up to Doom 3, this is a very affordable card with high reliability.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for Guild Wars

Pros: Very Nice card for AGP...I have AGP4x and when the box arrived it said does work in 4x systems just fine. Installed right out of the box and used the newer NVIDIA reference drivers from the website.

Cons: HOT....Great card but my box was 56C after playing Guild Wars. Had to get a slot fan to exhaust the heat out of the box...Running 15-20 degrees cooler now.

Other Thoughts: Not an issue with the card...but the new drivers kept popping up a balloon on every boot about disabling SLI...(two card thing Nvidia has)...There is a downloadable registry hack to kill this from Nvidia.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Card

Pros: Very good card for HTPC's using AGP technology, dongle is very good and card is very quite and cool. Coupled with the NVidia Purevideo Decoder makes this a win.

Cons: Nothing really.

Other Thoughts: I managed to overclock it to 400/600 and running stable since. Because it is not running in a gaming PC, i didnt push it any further, but i am sure it could easily hit 450 core. Runs suprisingly cool even at 400.

5 out of 5 eggsExcellent Video Card

Pros: - Comparitively Quiet
- Handles Standby/Resume properly
- GPU decodes mpg2 for hdtv/sdtv
- good software support

Cons: none at this time

Other Thoughts: Used this card to replace a Radeon X700 PRO in a HTPC. Had the Radeon card for a year and was not particularly happy with Catalyst. When the card started having trouble with standby\resume (a very common and ncessary operation for HTPC), it was time to switch. This card has held up well till now and has been very stable. A very good card if you watch HDTV since it decodes HDTV.

5 out of 5 eggsPrettyyyy prettyy goood

Pros: Extremely wonderful stability. I bought this card over a year ago, and it worked right off the bat. Now that i bought myself a 7800GS (for AGP!), i've been throwing everything i can to this 6600 to see if it'll blow up, and surprisingly it's handled most games at max or near max settings. Except of course, oblivion which i run at around 25-50 fps at mid settings. Handles Half life 2: episode 1, at max settings without any lag, nor hiccups with major explotions.

Cons: Hm, i'd have to say it's only con is the ddr memory. Not the fastest out there, but if you're looking for stability and nice playability then get this.

Other Thoughts: I've gone through a GeForce MX 4000, a GeForce 4Ti, GeForce 6600 (this one), GeForce 6800 AGP(Asus), and my new BFG 7800GS. If you're on the fence about getting a 6600 or 6800, i'd lean towards this model. the 6800 might sound better on paper, but it will never be as stable as this, not the agp version. it'll cost you twice as much, as well.

4 out of 5 eggsVery Good

Pros: Supports AGP until those of us who are hanging on can build a new computer. HD breakout cable included. Does not require lots of power (didn't want to get a new PS and therefore new case for my small family rig). DirectX 9c and OpenGL 2.0. Brought my computer from 780 on 3Dmark03 to 5800. Replaced an ATI 9200. Nice to get better framerates on COD2 and UT2004 while having all the settings cranked, when before I had everything at minimum. Easy install(if you know what an AGP slot is).

Cons: Price (when comparing to similar PCI-X cards). AGP has become more expensive as it becomes more outmoded. Fan too loud for HTPC (although not a factor for my setup). While before I could not run 3dmark06, I was suprised at the low score (<1000) for a 2.8 Ghz prescott and 1 gb ram. Couldn't beat my wife's laptop with a Core Duo 2300 (166 Ghz clock)with a ATI X1300 (fewer pipelines) and 1 gb ram on 3dmark06. Nvidia software keeps reminding me that "SLI has been disabled." Really, no SLI on my AGP computer? Let me go cry now. ;)

Other Thoughts: Works well on a high quality 300W power supply. I have 17A on +12v rail with a P4 2.8Ghz prescott (socket 478) with a DVD burner, DVD rom, and 2 IDE hard drives on the PS and not a problem so far. Overclocked slightly to 352/550 without stability issues. Haven't been monitoring heat, but I keep my case really cool. FEAR demo can be cranked to maximum quality settings, but wants to stay at 800x600, really bogs down (less than 30 fps) at 1024x768. Anisotropic filtering really seems to throw it for a loop for some reason, I usually end up turning it off so I can get better resolution and framerate. On the whole, old games are new fun again.

4 out of 5 eggsNot to shabby

Pros: Its a pretty good budget card. I did have to lower some of the settings in my games but not by much. No installation problems, pretty good gaming card. Big frames in source on high settings, bloom off and reflection set on low. Battlefield 2 medium and low settings COD high and medium settings. amd64 3700 2gig of ram this card 160gig hd 680watt psu

Cons: ddr memory so i expected the clock speeds to be a low. Down grade from my 6600gt (it fried and i only had a little money to replace it). Dont try to unlock pipelines It wont work.

Other Thoughts: Its not a big down grade from my 6600gt. I was amazed at the frames rates i got only about 30 and 60 frame drop in game battles but still more than enough to play. The stock heatsink and fan was decent but i have a water block from my 6600gt so i threw it on. I would have to say a good buy, I have another comp anyways that needs a video card so i can always replace this one and not have to feel like i lost, win win situation.

3 out of 5 eggsDecent

Pros: It's only a hundred bucks. It's a decent choice for budget gaming card (AGP)...

Cons: ... If you don't mind low settings in some of the newer ones (Games). It gets a bit warm & I hear PNY has bad support...

Other Thoughts: But I haven't had a single problem with this card & I have had it for quite some time, so I wouldn't know. I play Counter Strike Source, and World of Warcraft. Both games run great! (AMD2000+, 1.5 Gig PC-2100, this card) Skimpy setup, but working.

5 out of 5 eggsNicest card you can get for 99$.

Pros: I've been looking for a graphics card for a while now and have been keeping my eyes on this PNY Verto GeForce 6600. First time i saw it it was 112$, now amazingly, its only xx$. xx$ is WAY WORTH IT. On my Dimension 4600 (1280 MB SDRAM, 2.79 GHz P4) i can play BF2 on high settings with an fps around 40 (no drops at all) HL2 on around 60 FPS, COD2 on extra high, GTA:SA Extra High, and FEAR on mostly high (have to put the textures down a bit since the game IS a system hog.) all around 40-60 FPS. This is a VERY good card for a budget gamer.

Cons: Fan is a bit loud but it cools very well IMO.

Other Thoughts: I bought some extra RAM with this card, you might need it if your running on an old system.
