SLI Enabled-YES; SLI bridge needed-NO
- Pros: See other thoughts
- Cons: See other thoughts
- Other Thoughts: Ok, to those who are baffled by an SLI video card with no SLI bridge connector, don't pick up that phone to contact your lawyer for a bait-and-switch selling tactic. There is a real reason for not having an SLI bridge.
SLI doesn't NEED a bridge. Not even two 7900 GTX's NEED a bridge, they can communicate on the PCI-E bus. But, your performance won't be as good as you could get it.
The 6600, being an OLD card, pales in comparison to a 7900 GTX. But, the 6600's can comunicate via the PCI-E bus for SLI and still churn out great performance for the money.
So, if you figured it out, high end cards benifit from an SLI bridge, though on isn't NEEDED for SLI. With older cards, like the 6600, there just isn't enough data being transmitted between the two cards that an SLI bridge is needed to improve performance. The PCI-E bus just isn't that saturated with two 6600 gt's.
AWESOME TIMES 500000
- Pros: Ok,. This card owns. Ran Doom3 on Ultra, Bf2 HIGH, CS:S High. Every single game I ran, in high at a resoultion of 1280 x 1024.
Nice gaming card for those low budget gamers.
My specs are... CPU: AMD Athlon 64 4200 x2 (2.4ghz) RAm: 2560mb GFX:Geforce 6600 Mobo: Asrock 939dual-vsta
- Cons: None!!!
- Other Thoughts: None! Awesome card!

Loud fan
- Pros: Puts out great video for a great price.
- Cons: I just built the entire pc and I have 5 fans,, this fan for this card id the loudest one of the five. Not many 2 pin upgrade fans available on New Egg.
- Other Thoughts: Attempted to build pc with nice silent Antec case, etc.. but the PNY video fan has thwarted this effort.
Adequate
- Pros: Cheap, fairly reliable, decent card
- Cons: Occasionally I had some problems with game freezes, and the card isn't all that great, you can play most games on it, just a matter of how good you want your settings. For CSS, it does great, for games like BF2, it barely manages
- Other Thoughts: If you don't plan to do intense gaming, this card will work for you. If you do, at least get 2 of these in SLI.
Yay for SLI
- Pros: Good so far, drastic improvement over old 9600xt 128mb, havent tested it with newer games but runs UT04 and Wolf ET without any problems with all settings maxed out, nvidia software is nice, SLI compatible - entry level low cost SLI, 256 mb mem
- Cons: There are better SLI GPU's out there, and in another year this one will be obsolete.
- Other Thoughts: Running two of these in SLI and have to say that I have been very pleased with them. Not running the newest games or aps but runs 3D studio and older games very well with zero problems, so im assuming it would do ok with newer games and aps. If your interested in trying out SLI but are on a tight budget, two of these are highly reccommended. On a side note, these two cards do not require the bridge (as far as I know the bridge is usually included with the motherboard and not video card(s))
