5 out of 5 eggsProud 5 year owner

Pros: I bought this video card almost 5 years ago and it finally died on me (again). At the time it played games flawlessly and even to this day ran some games at the medium or high level surprisingly well. As an avid gamer I spent countless 40+ hour weeks during those years gaming with this thing took it in stride. For what its worth, it was an amazing investment and if given the chance I would gladly buy it again.

The card did run into trouble at about the two and a half year mark, and I had to call the PNY customer support. The guy who answered the phone was very patient with me and helped me run through a small list of diagnostic problems and treated me with respect despite my average tech knowledge. Sure enough he agreed with me that it was most likely the video card and they sent me a replacement which lasted another two and a half years. Their amazing service has earned them a happy satisfied customer for life.

Cons: Being the first time putting a pc together, I had some trouble with cords getting caught on the corner of the video card as I closed it. All it required me to do was to be careful and meticulous when opening and closing the case, which was probably a good thing.

Other Thoughts: I know this card has been deactivated and will most likely not be made again, but I just wanted to thank Newegg and PNY for an amazing shopping experience. The card and replacement card lasted me a few months short of 5 years and I couldn't of been happier with it. Keep up the great work PNY!

2 out of 5 eggsdont buy anything from PNY

Pros: the card was cheap when i got it as most of their line up is by comparison to other companies.

Cons: you get what you pay for. the card malfunctioned 18 months after i got it because of a nv4_disp error that was not corrected despite downloading the latest driver. when i tried to contact the company, i found they have no email or phone number. THEY DONT WANT CUSTOMERS CONTACTING THEM!!! thats a red flag. dont buy anything from this shady company

5 out of 5 eggsVery good card

Pros: Excellent graphics acceleration. Plays Oblivion at 1440x900 at ~30 fps outside (with HDR, and all graphics settings at high), plays COD4 on max settings with narry a hiccup.

FYI, my system is an Abit KN9 SLI with a be-2400 cpu, 4 gigs of ddr2 800 ram. I have only one of these, but if the price comes back down to the $135 I bought it at (thanks Newegg!) I'll SLI them.

Cons: Mine came in a damaged plastic case, but worked fine. It does take up 2 slots. I'm not sure it's worth the ~$250 it usually goes for, but I'm a cheapskate.

Other Thoughts: For the price I paid I doubt there's a better card, period. I would not have bought it at the current price, though.

5 out of 5 eggsOverall Happy

Pros: First, I am not a gamer. I bought this card to do folding@home. In the first day I was already getting 2400ppd and I am sure this will climb once I get done tweeking.

Cons: The card I received had been repackaged. The owners manual had hand writting through out it. This was not immediately noticable as the package had a nice shrink wrap on it.

Other Thoughts: If and when this card becomes available, I will most likely purchase another on. This card has been know to produce almost as many points per day (ppd) as the new GTX280 at 1/4 the cost.

5 out of 5 eggsProduct Update

Pros: This card has been really solid since my install. Just read a couple of reviews that we not entirely true. This card can be a little tweaky. But I installed the driver packs directly from nVidia. I was prompted by Windows Updates to update to their recommended driver pack. OOOHH, big mistake. Their driver pack is a rollback, to a driver pack that does not work. I got the BSOD and had to reboot in safe mode to get the issue addressed. But this was not the fault of the card. It has played everything I have thrown at it. Also I am not running Vista either, and yes I have heard there are issues with this card in the Vista Environment. But I'm taking that with a grain of salt too. I am also not running my systems at the 64 bit level either, I choose to remain at the 32 bit level until the 64 bit has been proven.

Cons: Just be careful on your install. This card is a whopper, and needs the breathing room. I purchased a completely new case due to space issues on my old case. I have not had any other issues with this card.

Other Thoughts: Case and PSU have changed since the last posting. Currently a XClio Turbine 230 Case and a CoolMax CUG-700B PSU. All other hardware has remained the same.

2 out of 5 eggsGood card, has problems

Pros: Good performance, one of the best picks price/performance wise a year ago. Runs almost all apps you throw at it at an acceptable frame rate, dual DVI, HDCP, easy install and nice cover and fan. Runs around 50C.

Cons: Have lately had problems with the card. Quitting games and running multiple apps simultaneously on dual-monitor results in an inability to start new instances, from "inability to crease D3D device" to running out of video memory. Seems to have some serious problems flushing or allocating VRAM, which has been alluded to by quite a few other posters. I'm going to RMA it to see if that helps.

Other Thoughts: Right now, I would recommend staying away from this and the 640MB versions, if at least because the G92 versions are better, and at most because this seems to be a known issue.

5 out of 5 eggsWondeful

Pros: This card is quite nice especially coming from someone who went from low end dx9 cards for years to this...I can run pretty much any game I play on max and it doesn't seem to run that hot.

Cons: None really...some designs on other cards may look nicer :-P but who just sits and looks at it anyway

Other Thoughts: Honestly I'd recommend this video card to anyone and everyone. The price for the performance is wonderful and great for gaming ;-)

5 out of 5 eggsGREAT CARD

Pros: So far, this card has done great. Not only does it look nice, but it preforms just as well. I can run crysis on VERY HIGH settings at a resolution of 1280 x 1024 with an average framerate of around 30fps and no AA. This card tears the orange box to shreads, flying by 60FPS in nearly every one of it's games.

Works fine with vista, and can run CoD4 up all the way (Which is awesome because it is such a great game).

Cons: The only real cons i have are the other users giving this card 1 eggs because of their driver issues, because they could easily fix those problems themselves (i.e. not being able to play another game without rebooting). My card works perfectly fine with the latest drivers off of the PNY website.

I guess the only other con is because of how long it is the 6pin power it needs plugs into it bumps into my SATA plugs for my HDD's.

Other Thoughts: THIS CARD is GREAT. I absolutely suggest buying it (i am considering buying a second :D) especially if you're looking for a great card for your money (at only 279!). It looks nice and preforms just as well and i'm really happy with my purchase. Also, thanks to newegg for getting it to my house 2 days after i placed the order :D
