- Pros: It seems to get the job done.
- Cons: Poor construction, fan started going bad after 2 days. Now that fan has slowed (and started grinding) GPU idle temperature is 92 degrees Celsius and crashes after 3 minutes of gameplay. Lack of 12V plug on a 512MB card should have been a tip-off.
- Other Thoughts: When my old nVidia 7900 GTS went bad I went out and bought this card from Best Buy as a holdover until my 8800 GT from NewEgg arrived. After two days the fan started grinding and now the card is in a constant state of being overheated. Lucky for me that NewEgg has great shipping times -- I'll be getting the new card in the mail tomorrow and returning this piece of junk ASAP.
huge upgrade for old graphics cards.
- Pros: GREAT price, Good Quality, runs all my old games on High Settings. its a huuge upgrade from my old card, and i'm well pleased.
- Cons: its not the 8800.
it won't bring me breakfast in bed.
it shipped from CA, and I live in PA so it showed up a few days later than my other parts, ( BUT still right on time) and my other parts arrived a Day early So w/e
- Other Thoughts: I upgraded from a OLD Geforce 6100 graphics card, and let me tell you the difference is huge, I had to play WOW on low settings to get a good frame rate, And now... with this card.. I pretty much get 80 FPS on the highest settings ( were talking 80 FPS everywhere.) I could really tell the graphical difference in City of Hero's which i had to play on minimum, and now I play it on Full and it looks so nice i was amazed.
Nice card for the money.
- Pros: The card is adequate for mid-range gaming, but is obviously not up to the task of running the high end games at their top setting. It is up to the task if you are more of a "hobby" gamer. If you are hard core, you'll want something more powerful and more pricey. But, if you are hard core, you already know this. The dual outputs are a nice feature-some experts swear that using two monitors boosts productivity.
- Cons: As others have said, the fan seems a bit weak. However, I added a Vantec Tornado fan to my case and hence heat is not an issue.
- Other Thoughts: It is a PCI Express X16 card. There are different PCI Express slots (and hence cards).
