4 out of 5 eggsGood Card For Price

Pros: Very good card for the cash. Runs Second Life with no problems, even faster than my 6600gt 128mb pci-e in the other computer. Very good FPS, runs cool. Does not need it's own power plug!

Cons: Could be stronger, but for the cash it is excellent. Only real con is that this is the base model 6600 in the 256mb form.

Other Thoughts: I bought this card for my girl's machine. I refuse to buy anything higher than a 6600 for an AGP slot motherboard, due to the fact it is now obsolete to the PCI-E. My girl only really plays Second Life with this machine, but that game can get pretty up there in graphics. It delivered better performance than I anticipated, and was better than the "old computer card" I thought it would be. I have never bought any card for so little that was so good. Final analysis: Great card for that second, aging computer...brings it up to speed with current technology.
Computer Used:
E-Machines 3065
160gig HDD
AMD Anthlon XP 3000+ (2.17ghz)
512mb 333mhz RAM

4 out of 5 eggsShoulda been obvious

Pros: Pretty good card so far, runs HL2 pretty well on my Sempron 3300 at 1024x768 max detail.

Cons: Will not work if you try to use it with the 125W power supply you scavenged from your 286.

Other Thoughts: You can't pair this card up with an old power supply. Like any newer graphics card, it draws a lot of juice. Trying to use it with, say, a 200W power supply will probably give you artifacts and cause the card to fail, even if you try it 3 times with 3 different cards like one of the previous reviewers.

1 out of 5 eggsPoorly Designed

Pros: Slight OC Ability

Cons: Poorly designed, AGP bus is WAAAAAY underpowered for this kind og power and almost killed the motherboard i installed this card on.

FIC VG-31C became very erratic and unstable even after removing the card and switching back to a older RIVA TNT II 16MB AGP Card. thus this board is lost. tried switching back to onboard video and board was still erratic.

Other Thoughts: dont use this card, unless you want to kill your motherboard.

3 out of 5 eggsYou get what you pay for

Pros: low price

Cons: average quality

Other Thoughts: First off, the memory speed on my card is 400mhz, stock. I notified Newegg of this, but it looks like they have not modified the description. No one else has complained of this, so I wonder if it was an error with only my card. Despite that, I have it clocked much higher than either of the stock specs.

I'm not sure why there have been complaints about the fan. I am running it in an older and hotter running computer, but it still stays a crisp 34C, on average, even though it is overclocked.

I have not had any problems with any games, but Battlefield 2 runs obnoxiously poorly, not sure why. Also, FEAR runs poorly, but I have yet to see a computer than runs it very well.

Overall, I have rated the card as "average" for two reasons. Despite a long time of outstanding service from NewEgg, this is the first time I have found a problem (actual card different from description) with their product, and because the card will run most new games/programs, but certainly not on "high."

1 out of 5 eggsWhat were they thinking?

Pros: Booted Up

Cons: This card is junk. went through 3 cards and all had artifacts and the fan started whining and went out within a week on 2 of them. Also the only 6600 I have seen without a molex power connector. the AGP bus simply can't supply enough power. Not sure what Aopen was thinking with this product. Got an XXX 6600 256mb and am amazed the difference in quality and performance. BF2 on Aopen --> low --> under 30 FPS BF2 on XXX --> medium --> above 40 FPS constant

3 out of 5 eggsA Decent Card.

Pros: it has a low price now. I paid 150 for it at the time, and I wouldn't pay that again, but the price now is reasonable.

Cons: It ran quake 4 with tweaking at 800 x 600 with medium settings. Also, it has a very weird heatsink, which is a real pain to remove and when you do it is incompatible with many if not all other heatsinks. Mine broke while using a Zalman VF700-Cu, as it didn't fit properly and half the card got fried.

Other Thoughts: Decent card, lasted me a while. Had a lot of problems with overheating, and i already said how much of a pain it is to try to replace the heatsink.

5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: runs anything i can throw at it including doom 3, hl2 and farcry for under a hundred bucks.
nice big heat sink.

Cons: none as of yet

Other Thoughts: the heatsink cools it well but you may want to consider a pci fan, for 3 bucks it lets me sleep a little easier
