Excellent card for the money!
- Pros: Very quiet - runs games at very good frame rates, even at high quality settings. The Sims 2 was like a whole new game!
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: For those people having problems with frame rates dropping, try turning off threaded optimization in the advanced settings. I was having freezes and crashes at first and this cured it completely. Apparently some single threaded apps (games are mostly single threaded) will hang and choke on this setting.
hmm....
- Pros: I upgraded from a radeon x600, it wasn't much of a difference in graphics quality but performance was 50x better.
- Cons: I've had many problems with some older type games such as CS 1.6 and DoD 1.3. My main issue is FPS, it will not increse anything from 60 beyond and my old card did better. I've tried having support and managed to fix some of it. The card also creates somewhat of a fake lagg for the games. But much newer games such as CSS and BF 2142 work perfectly on high detail.
- Other Thoughts: When I ordered it I never got the mail in rebate coupon, but I'm not really complaining there. I'll eventually get another one of these or upgrade to a 8800. Good card though.
