3 out of 5 eggsRuns a little warm

Pros: Runs the games I play an med-high settings.

Half life 2 / episode 1: very smooth with highest settings.

Oblivion: Medium settings run at about 20-30fps

Cons: The last 6 months or so with this card have been terrible. 4 times now, the card has overheated and caused full screen checkered artifacts. After installing brand new case fans for my NZXT Guardian, the temps only went down 1-2 degrees C.

Idle: 45-49C
Load GPU:70-75C, but I've seen it as high as 83C.

Other Thoughts: Dell Dimension 4600, Pentium 4 with HT @2.8GHz, 80gb Hitachi 80gb, 1gb PC 2700 RAM, BFG Geforce 6800 GS OC 256mb.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card!!!

Pros: Great card, incredible graphics! Easy install, just make sure to download the latest drivers from NVIDIA instead of using the ones off the CD. Card runs quite cool; I am able to crank up all the settings on Battlefield 2, Tiberium Wars, etc… If you still have a AGP slot and NOT a PCI Express, this is the why to go! With a data rate of 36.8GB a second and GDDR3 Ram is has great speed.

Cons: Just make sure you have AT LEAST a 350 watt power supply… and good air flow in your computer case. Since the card can be over clocked I recommended downloading a video card heat monitor program so you can keep a watch on the temperature of your card at all times.

Other Thoughts: Great buy! Get yours today!

4 out of 5 eggsHeat issues

Pros: Great card, NV40 Core, what more can anyone ask for.

Cons: Older NV4x tech, 7600GT is faster

Other Thoughts: To everyone saying things about the heat let me be upfront with you, my 6800GS runs at 450/1100 or as we like to call it 6800Ultra EE speeds with all 16pipes and 6vs unlocked. The reason the card runs hot folks is because your case isnt cooler right, simple as that, make sure your intakes are taking in air form the bottom and pushing it out the top and upper rear fans, do not complain aobut heat when your cooling isnt right. I get about 53C on stock cooling running OCed and i live in Texas with no AC so give me a break.

3 out of 5 eggsIt runs way to hot

Pros: would be great if heatsink and fan were better

Cons: I play world of warcraft and after about a half hour the card gets so hot it restarts my computer.I'm also starting to get random white blocks on the screen.

1 out of 5 eggsAs others say avoid BFG

Pros: I bought this card as an upgrade for my ATI 9600XT. After reading the reviews I bought this card knowing 2 things: it could be overclocked and have additional piple lines opened, and it ran very hot and loud.

Cons: The latter of the aforementioned issues caused me to buy a zalman gpu fan for the card. Newegg had it here next day (they always do) and I installed the fan on the card and the card into my p4 3.2ghz 2gb ddr 400 ram windows xp machine. First thing that you will notice that even it a well designed tower, thermaltake tsunami, this card is so massive it barely fits in. As a note the pipelines that were supposed be unlockable were except they were corrupt and caused artifacting so I undid the process.
Within the first 3 hours of using it I had no problems. I then left for a couple hours and when I returned the screen was black and the computer was still running. After restarting the computer the card would malfunction and not boot windows. I reseated the card a couple times until I got it to work. 48 hours later and the same problem took place. This time no matter how much I tried it would not boot.

Other Thoughts: I guess I’m an idiot because when I got the card working I threw away the box it came in. This means I can no longer return to new egg. I called BFG and was completely upfront with them. I was told that because I installed the new fan that I voided the warranty. Reading their warranty word for word it says nothing about this only if the third party product was the reason for the malfunction, which it is not.
24 hours later I now have a $180 paper weight and a lesson learned. Never buy from BFG, I also spent an hour on the phone, and never got anywhere. I just ordered an XFX 7800GS for $xx more. Hope I have better luck.

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid BFG as a company

Pros: Some other fool will buy it from me online.

Cons: Avoid BFG as a company. This card simply doesn't work on NFORCE3 chipsets. The problem comes in where I had to RMA the first card for crashing constantly on Half Life, Counter strike, and other games. It was a bad card and I had to pay RMA shipping and wait a month to get my card back. Then I ran into the NFORCE3 bug that BFG support knows about related to this card. BFG trys to work around it by getting you to change your bios setting so your Main CPU handles more processing. As it turns out the card needs to be under clocked to make this work on most games. So why am I paying more for a card that I have to under clock. BFG support was rude. They dropped my calls 4 times. The tech had my phone number and could have easily call back. I had to get back on hold for over 4 hrs total. They acted like this was my problem when this problem is documented all over the internet. Look at the first review and then decide to buy from BFG.

Other Thoughts: Customer support is a very important part of a purchase. If you don't care about support than burn $200 cash. Because if you don't have support you have nothing when the card doesn't work on most games

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Card

Pros: Great performaer and have had little trouble with it.

Cons: Runs a little hot. Had to add a PCI fan to cool when playing high graphic games.
