WOW! - Impressive!
- Pros: Good upgrade choice for AGP lackeys like me! Solid BFG construction. Simple install. Solid Nvidia drivers. Solid tech support.
- Cons: Noisy fan (but well worth the performance boost)!
- Other Thoughts: I figured my upgrade options were fairly limited for my AGP board. Proc, mobo, RAM, and HDD were all solid so I couldn't bear to reconfigure everything to get PCI-e graphics. I replaced a ATI Radeon 9200 with this Geforce 7800GS and I am ecstatic! I am an X3 Reunion addict and the game was nearly unplayable with my old card. FPS would drop to the 6-10 range (AA & AF off, 1024X768 res)during a space battle making the game VERY stuttering and hard to play. Popped this Geforce 7800 GS in and I am smokin! Now I play X3 at 1280X1024 with 4XAA and 2XAF with no stuttering and BEAUTIFUL graphics! "The Way It Was Meant To Be Played" about sums it up for me. I thank the computer Gods for remembering us AGP lackeys - I am EXTREMELY happy with this card!
Good stuff
- Pros: High FPS on very intense and interactive games.
Reasonably low temps Great drivers Easy OC ability
- Cons: Upgrade worth the price?
- Other Thoughts: As expected of the 7x series, it's amazing. I have been waiting on this card for some time now. A week before I heard the rumors I was going to drop $$ on a 6800 ultra, from my 9600x-I'm glad I didn't.
In my case, this was worth the upgrade; If you have a 6800 chip, you may not get the performance increase you want from dropping another $xxx on this. I have yet to OC this card, but have heard reports of this getting up to 495 core and 1.41 memory.
BTW, FEAR and CoD2 never looked so good!

Awesome Card
- Pros: This card is awesome it has been functioning well for over a year! On WOW
- Cons: None
- Other Thoughts: Running Prescott Pentium 4 3.2E 800FSB with 1GB DDR400 ram yeah my systems is old but it runs World of warcraft great. upgraded from ati radeon 9600
good board
- Pros: my kid is happy, his frame rates are way up! I'm happy I was able to get a good AGP board and not have to build a new computer!
- Cons: 1st board was DOA but NewEgg RMA'ed it and sent me a new one that worked. Turn around time was good.
- Other Thoughts: his old Nvidia 5700LE is in my system and doing the job. It is an upgrade for my 'non-gamer" system and need to worry about my kid loaning my system to someone for a LAN party
works fine
- Pros: lets me play bf2142 on high / with decent fps
- Cons: really long , has a loud fan on it.
i hate having to buy new stuff every few years , it gets expensive.
- Other Thoughts: its time to buy mobo w/pci-x
and get a quad core.no matter how sweet your box is , it wont get you laid. actually works opposite in that repect
