The best Geforce PCI out there.
- Pros: The 6200 PCI is the best Geforce PCI card you'll find today. While PCI is a dying(dead?) brand of graphics card, big companies still like throwing a motherboard in with only PCI slots just to torment us. While this isn't a X1300 or a X1550 PCI card, it's still a good PCI card that won't make you upgrade your power supply. All 250 watt power supplies should run this. If you want a boost for your old computer, you should pick up one of these.
- Cons: A 6200 AGP card was rated 2x as fast as this one. Of course, it was 128 BIT, too. This card is 64-bit.
It's not as strong as the Radeon PCI cards you can find. In order to run .avi video files, you'll need the drivers of 84.21. These are outdated from the latest Nvidia drivers, but the best for this card.
- Other Thoughts: I'm waiting for these to go back in stock so I can grab one myself! I can't wait. BFG, if you're reading this, please give me a date!
6200 pci definitely > ati 9200 pci
- Pros: I have done the research and it paid off. This card performs well with games (HF 2 and CSS), videos, and general apps. It runs every game smoother than my ati 9200se pci, which i had even overclocked.
- Cons: This is not really a con: 128mb. Memorywise, i did not go anywhere because ati 9200 was also 128mb. Difference between this and the 3times more expensive BFG 6200 OC pci, is higher resolutions.
- Other Thoughts: For those who dont believe the other reviews, heed their advice and use the forceware 84.21 (windows certified) drivers. CSS runs at all full/on at 30-50fps 1024x768 resolution. You can get a solid 70 if you bump HDR, reflections, and resolution down a notch.
did not work
- Pros: Price
- Cons: didn't work. There was green lines in the screen.I tried ALL of the drivers that support it and still nothing. It would only get 15 FPS on low settings on 3dmark01.MY computer would just turn off when i would i ttried to load windows and my power supply would smell hot. Read other thoughts
- Other Thoughts: It fried my new Antec PSU that is 500w.Now i hav e to get a a new PSU and use my old card.I also have to pay for shipping.Stay away from it.
