5 out of 5 eggs

Comments: To the person a few reviews below who ran the card on a 2 ghz P4, your CPU is a HUGE bottleneck to this card. What kind of performance gain did you expect? Of course changing settings on the card isn't going to improve your framerate because your CPU is holding it up.

Great card. Throw it in an equally matched system and you'll get awesome results.

5 out of 5 eggsDigger69

Comments: Great deal for under 170. Was able to unlock the extra 4 pipes with rivatuner without artifacts. I also took advice and got the Zalman VF700-CU heatsink. I'm very pleased with it as well. I'm running 55C full load at stock speeds. I don't feel the need to overclock atm. Can run BF 2 on high setting 1024x768 without skipping a beat. I also downloaded the Tweaked NGO nvidia drivers and they made a big difference. Ordered monday recieved on wed. I won't buy anywhere else.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Deal for the money!

Comments: I haven't gotten my rebate yet, but this card would be a good deal for the money even if i never get a check. I was able to unlock the masked vertex unit, but the extra pixel unit created a snow-like artifact against some textures (12x1,6vp). It overclocked to 350/800. Performance is far beyond any other $xxx AGP card.

5 out of 5 eggsVery nice . . .

Comments: Awesome card for the $. 25% chance, unlocked the pipes and got artifacts. BUT overclocked it, and it's fast. 325/750(stock) 405/820(stable) never over 60 degrees C in games, increased my benchmark scores substantially. Make sure you have proper cooling. Zalman fan here, one on cpu and one on gfx, both with artic silver 5. Newegg rocks with great shipping and service!

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome Card!!!

Comments: This is an awesome card. Unlocked extra pipes no problem. no artifacts at all. I would replace the stock fan with Zalman VF700-CU. comes with ram sinks also, and all 8 ram modules are on the same side of the card, around the gpu so no need for a massive wrap around heat sink.

Also, don't bother with the nvidia official drivers on certain systems this card for some reason just won't work properly with them.

I'm running an athlon 2600+ OC'ed to 2.4 gigs, 1.5 gigs of DDR 400, on an abit NF7 mobo even with an older mobo processor combo this card still preforms off the wall.

3d mark 05 = 4133
3d mark 03 = 9671
aquamark = 50,499 (7351 gpu)

at 1024 x 768 res i can run BF2 with everything on max except AA and hang between 70-100 fps large fire fights i never drop below 50 fps.

again if your performance is lacking, try modded drivers, im using ngo forceware drivers. with stock nvidia drivers BF2 was unplayable at anything better than medium settings.

5 out of 5 eggswish there were MORE stars to rate it!!

Comments: I upgraded from an nVidia GeForce 5700LE and man, gaming hasn't been the same. RCT3 runs great with full settings, as well as GTA SA, and BloodRayne 2, not to mention Mafia, the Punisher, Enter the Matrix, NFSU 2, etc. (INCLUDING HALO 2). it's HUGE, almost as long as my mobo, but it's great!!!! powers my intricate system:

ThermalTake Soprano w/side window (black)
Chaintech 700W power supply
MSI K8N Neo2 Platinum mobo
360 Gb SATA HD (160 + 200)
Athlon 64 3200+
XFX nVidia GeForce 6800
2 x 1Gb Ultra FSB 400 PC3200
Creative Sound Blaster Live! 24 bit

This thing is a beast!!

5 out of 5 eggsAwsome card

Comments: great card, surpassed my wildest expectations, runs BF2 super smooth on Med/low settings, will run great once i upgrade RAM, but this card is awsome, easier installation than i thought, i installed it in a DELL 4600,so anyone can install it, plus shipping was very FAST !!! wow

3 out of 5 eggs

Comments: With my 2ghz p4 (533 bus) and 1 gig of ram, I'm getting 25-75 fps in CS:S. Source test is a constant 66 with 4xAA and 8x Anistropic filtering. What really 'grinds my gears' though, is how no matter what settings i put half life on.. low models, shadows, textures, the fps won't improve. Something with this card must be amiss. Card runs at 63-67 celsius, pretty hot... but sometimes it'll stay in the mid 40's all through hours of gaming, but be 70 celsius at other times for no apparent reason. A real weird card. If i were *you*, i'd spend 20 more dollars and take my chances with the eVGA 6800.

5 out of 5 eggsIc3b3rg

Comments: Although you did manage to open up all 16x6 pipes, it was not successful since you are getting artifacts. One or more pipes are damaged. The NV5 would only help if you are experiencing artifacts from overheating, but that's unlikely in this case. The card should be the same temp with the pipes unlocked or not.

Also, to add on to my review from before, I can overclock this to 400/800 without a problem. Have a 120mm on my Lian Li, so the card never goes too far above the low 60's. Overclocked to 420/820 and that did 3dmark2005 perfectly fine. Got 3400 points with 420/820 on barton 2.2ghz.

5 out of 5 eggsHmmm....Strange

Comments: Overall im impressed with this cards performence. One thing i noticed was that the card in the box was different from the image NewEgg provided. Mine looked exactly like that of the PVT40KNDD3 model, item # N82E16814150106... I recieved the same box and game bundle with for this model. Also, I was succesful in unlocking the card to 16 but got a huge amount of artifacts. I'm a noob, so if I purchase an N5 Artic Silencer, will that get rid of the artifacts? PLEASE HELP SOMEONE!!!! BTW did I mention great service by NewEgg? This is my first purchase, but I will continue to buy products from here!!
