WOAH AWSOME!!!
- Pros: This Card is excellent in every single way. I have played just about ever game i have (half life 2, CSS, Quake 4, Doom 3...) and all of them were able to play on the maximum settings. No articles whatsoever. Great Card for the money.
- Cons: Fan is slightly noisy when it starts to process high amounts of graphics. But at idle it is very quiet.
Didn't seem to play Battlefield 2 very well but thats probably because i need more ram to keep up with the higher graphics.
- Other Thoughts: I recommend this card highly
A fair card
- Pros: I love the performance.
- Cons: I have encountered a rare problem. I realize not many people own two LCD monitors capable of 1080p resolution (1920x1080), but I'm just lucky enough to. It just so happens that XFX does not support full single link resolution on both DVIs that their 7600gt houses. If you run 1920x1080 to both monitors, one would be crystal clear, while the other would be jumpy, fuzzy and interlaced. Now I know that this is a way for card makers to cheat a little but quite inexcusable especially considering this day and age where high resolution is readily available.
- Other Thoughts: I have contacted XFX's tech support, per their comment, because the dual DVI is not "DUAL DUAL" DVI it does not support the resolution. He suggests me to upgrade to the $500.00 USD version to get full dual monitor support on those resolution. This is disheartening, especially when I'm demanding simple 2D compliance which the chip is suppose to do anyways. I'm not saying 150 fps on f.e.a.r. just good solid 2D support. Good cards from other company both support full resolution via dual monitors. This was demonstrated via my friends 6600gt and my other friend's x600. Due to newegg's policy i can't name names. Let's just say one has a memory unit as a name and the other is taiwan's biggest mobo manufacturer. Anyways good luck in the purchase if you have one monitor and want good performance. If you happen to be like me, I would suggest you to seek elsewhere.
Great Upgrade
- Pros: This card was a definate upgrade from my evga 6600 card. im in school right now and i was looking for a card that fits my budget, but also supplies alot of power, this was my card. ive tested BF2 and Oblivion and i get great results, oblivion rounds around 30fps outside at day and 60 indoors. BF2 was runing at 40-50FPS some drops occasionally but great results. If your looking for a card that fits your budget of around 150 this card is great
- Cons: not the 7900GT, that card is better than the 7600GT, but you will need another 100$, not bad if you got it because a 250$ card is a great price. this cards fan is noticable from my old card that didnt even have a fan. but to be honest it doesnt bother me at all because is just slightly louder than my CPU and i dont think you should take it into factor.
- Other Thoughts: Great card for the price, if your in school and want a good card, this is it, but if you got the extra 100$ go for the 7900GT.
