5 out of 5 eggs

Pros: I found one of these open box on newegg and have been pleased as punch to get it for thirty bucks less even AFTER rebate. Unit came with all cables/connectors/drivercd/etc just like the new ones

Cons: replaced stock fan so fan noise was not an issue for me, never even powered up the oem fan

Other Thoughts: If you can find one open box, go for it!

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card 2 months ago, mediocre card now

Pros: This is obviously the 7900 GT GPU by XFX. When I got it I was very impressed with the speed of the card. When I first played Oblivion on it I laughed out loud when remembering the frame rates of my friends 6800's system. In Oblivion runs about 85+FPS inside and 30+-FPS outside. The heatsink looks cool even though it sucks (see cons). When I got it just 4 months ago it was $xxx+. Now its already only $xxx. Also, it runs Vista very well. Also, there is a double life time warranty, so if you sell it on <e b a y> or something, that person will still have the warranty.

Cons: *eXtremely loud fan (suposedly fixed with updated BIOS at bjorn3d.com)

*Not Direct X 10 (In case you didn't know Vista uses DX10 which helps with all the new visual candy for the new and upcoming games for Vista)

*Not an 8800 GTX...

*Very HOT! About 55*C not running anything!

With higher resolutions there is obviously an FPS drop(duh)

Other Thoughts: Overall, it is a good Video card for $xxx and lowering. Not DX10, not an 8800GTX, but still great for HD games and multimedia. If I were you I would get an EVGA personally. (My friend has an EVGA 7900 GT, and it is cooler and stuff.) Also, if you have the money, I would shoot for a 7950GX2 or an 8800 GT or something. But, its still good.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat for PC Games!!!!

Pros: This video card twiddles its thumbs while playing very intense games.. Very powerful! Runs BF2142, CS:source: HL2: GRAW, all in highest definitions!! VIVO works excellent, television quality on it isn't the best but works good enough for me. Very nice addition to computer. Will eventually run in SLI

Cons: The fan SCREAMS when first running, just download the newest BIOS update for the card, the difference in noise is shocking.

Other Thoughts: EVGA 680I, Corsair 2GB 800Mhz PC6400 EPP. Intel Core 2 Duo E6400.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat Video Cards!!

Pros: These video cards are amazing, game play is the best. XFX is also a great company.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: I had 2 7800GTX video cards, and one of them stopped working. I called XFX and they upgraded me to two 7900GT's, which are a little better then the 7800GTX (I wish they had done the 7900GTX, but that's ok). They have the best customer service, they didn't treat me like a dummy and did not make me trouble shoot over the phone. They shipped the new cards within a week.

5 out of 5 eggsFan not an issue for me

Pros: I don't think fan noise should be an issue. I have yet to flash the bios to correct this "problem". Frankly, I'm all for the fan spinning as fast as it can go to cool down my system. I overclocked this card to 550/1500 on the stock cooling with no problem because of the fan spinning 100%. If your planning to run SLI, I would check your motherboard to see if it runs at dual 8x or dual 16x. There's not much of a performance boost from using 2 of these or any other card at only 8x. Your better off just overclocking it a tad bit to get the performace of 2 cards at 8x. Unless you just want it to look cool in your system....

Cons: none so far

Other Thoughts: Conroe 6600 oc'd 3.4ghz - Gigabyte SLI MOBO - 2GB Corsair 667mhz TwinX - XFX 7900GT - M-Audio 24/96 - M-Audio 410 Firewire interface - Xion case - 16x Lightscribe DVDRW - 600w SLI PS - 1 Terabyte HD's (4 250GB Seagate 7200rpm SATAII on Raid) - WinXP Pro

3 out of 5 eggsIt's a crapshoot

Pros: Cheap overclocked 7900GT. Vary powerfull. Plays most games with the graphics maxed out.

Cons: Mine Started failing after 3 weeks use.

Other Thoughts: Last I heard the return rate on the 520 Core(7900gt,gs,gtx, 7950gt) was in the thousands. It is believed to be do to a memory defect. Returning it was painless, buying an 8800GTS for a replacement. Newegg rocks

Pros: Great Card! Overclocks pretty well, mine's running at 575/1800 at the moment.

Cons: none

Other Thoughts: I wouldnt know if the stock fan is loud or not, I installed a ZALMAN FC - ZV9 (ZALMAN VF900) before I even used it, and at the moment its running at 36°C IDLE,and it doesnt go above 47°C LOAD.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat board for the buck!

Pros: VERY good 7900gt soltuion for the price. 200 dollars after the rebate (at the time I bought it).

Cons: The fan is VERY VERY VERY loud, but as noted all of the place, with a simple bios update and reboot life was good.

5 out of 5 eggsGood Card for the Money

Pros: Easy install, like most cards today. Excellant value.

Cons: Fan was running at 100% until I flashed the BIOS. The fix should have been on company's web site, but I learned of the fix from earlier review. You can find the BIOS at Bjorn3d.com. Don't know why it is not at company site.

Other Thoughts: Past experiance has been with older technology cards (ATI 9800 Pro) This card shows amazing detail compared to older technology.

4 out of 5 eggsGreat card for price good OC

Pros: Jumping from a 600Gt to a 7900GT There was a huge difference in speed. This card can easily run new games at very decent speeds. on BF2142 i was averaging 55-60 FPS with almost everything high (textures on medium) also this card seems to be a really good choice for OCing. its averaging a 65c temp on full 3d load (OCed), witch is not bad for a computer with no fans (albit the cover is off)

Cons: indeed as people say, the fan is loud without the bios update, grab that though, and you are fine, also, you can adjust the fan even more buy using *ivatuner.

Other Thoughts: great card for the money, rebate is a plus.

(AMD 3400+ OCed to 2.3Ghz, 1GB pc3200, XFX7900GT OCed)

and as always very fast shipping <3 newegg
