8600 GT XFX
- Pros: Small Card, Silent Fan and a vast improvement over my last card. Installed in 2 minutes no issues runs great and fast. Its not a 8800 but it wasn't suppose to be. If you're moving up and want a decent card for the price go for it.
- Cons: None at this point. All is well.
- Other Thoughts: Being I actually own this card not like the other 4 people that posted here. I would suggest they purchase it and run it before they pass judgement on it. All in all running fine on XP, 2.8 media unit. Runs all of my dx9 games at a great frame rates including BF2, 2142 and COH.
Great Card, Bad Reviewers
- Pros: It's an affordable DX10 card that delivers excellent performance, is backwards compatible to DX9, and priced exceptionally well.
- Cons: The people who pretend to know what they are talking about when they review this card. The card is great and is a brilliant move by Nvidia to market DX10 technology at a good price.
- Other Thoughts: In DX9, this card beats out the 7600GT and runs really close to much of the 7900 series. It's not an opinion, its a fact. Anyone who says otherwise is wrong. Since a decent 7900 series card runs about the same price and requires roughly the same power, I see no reason to buy a 7900 anymore seeing that DX10 stretches this card way past the 7900 and performs incredibly when we start seeing the software to run it in Vista.

50% Return
- Pros: Worked well with sli setup. Cheap
- Cons: The one card blew out in a year. XFX support is terrible. I started contacting them a month ago and am getting irritated. If i didnt have the other without sli, my computer would be down and i'd be even more furious
Extremely loud.
- Other Thoughts: apparently you pay for what you get
One year and still good
- Pros: Does what I want it to do.
- Cons: About the only con which is not a con really, is the rebate never got back to me.
- Other Thoughts: I was wanting to upgrade to a 9800gt, but I don't think I will. I am going to wait a year or so and just get a whole new computer. I play BF2 and Call of Duty4 on max settings with this card. I got Crysis and can play on medium with no lag. I play BF2 the most online, so this will be all the card I need.
I am running a Acer ast180 with Vista 32bit, AMD 4400+, 4 gb Gskill, 585 psu, 19" Acer wide screen, Razer DA, Exactmat with rest, cyber snipa game pad,and this XFX 8600gt. My setup runs flawlessly. New computer with better hardware for me in the future. But for now, I feel not left behind, yet. Read my last year review.
good product
- Pros: no problems installing on xp or vista 64bit. no heat problems also. worked great on call of duty 4.
- Cons: none i can think of.
- Other Thoughts: upgraded from this to a xfx 8800 special edition but wish i didnt. gave this card away. the upgraded card is loud and heats up.
