Tech Level: somewhat high - Ownership: 1 day to 1 week
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Makes a nice paperweight. Other than that, none.
Cons: Worked great for a few minutes each time I boot. Put it in a new build and did absolutely everything I could. Took heat sink off and added more thermal paste and upped fan speed so heat wasn't issue. Updated my bios and all. Used driver sweeper and then tried Nvidia drivers and Foxconn drivers. Have a 500 watt psu so definitely enough power for it. So I am assuming I just got faulty card. Paid so little for it not even worth RMAing.
Other Thoughts: Evga 9800gt sure works nice though.

NVIDIA does the trick!

Pros: Supports my Sharp Aquos LC-32GP1U HDTV as a Vista monitor; good WIE scores; great color.
Cons: Can't think of any offhand.
Other Thoughts: I tried an ATI 2600 card first and it worked well--WIE scores 5.6 Aero, 5.1 Gaming--but it would not boot up with my Sharp HDTV no matter what I tried. The Foxconn 8500GT works about as well as the ATI--WIE scores 5.0 Aero, 5.3 gaming--but it booted up with my Sharp HDTV on the first try. Picture is great and with full 1920x1080p, 32 bpp, 60 Hz--fills the screen with no overscan (after I diddled with the NVIDA Control Panel for a while). Highly recommended for anyone wanting to use an HDTV as a computer monitor. I'm running Intel DG965WH mb, Core 2 Duo 6600, 4 MB DRR2 RAM (567 Mhz), 2 x WD Raptor 150 GB (RAID 1). The 8500GT works perfectly with this system. WIE scores 5.3, 5.6, 5.0, 5.3, 5.8, in the usual order. I'm not a gamer--just do a lot of DTP & image editing.
