4 out of 5 eggsWorks great

Pros: I use it in my dorm room so I don't have to have an actual TV.

Cons: None so far.

Other Thoughts: Compare prices of TV's and this card and consider how much you like your money.

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Works fine on my HP laptop and local cable provider. All functions work as advertised. Good price/value with the rebate. Three day shipping from newegg turned out to be two days.

Cons: At this price can't complain about a thing.

2 out of 5 eggsquit disappointed

Pros: It's PCMCIA interface, so it attached to the laptop very well.

Cons: PCMCIA generate lots of heat. Quality don't need to mention... it is bad. The quality of the coaxial cable it comes with has a lot noise.

Other Thoughts: I am sure there is a lot other external TV tunner in the market. Grab one of those, not this one, except if you buy it only because of the price. $xxRebat= $xx, which is really much cheaper than others, but you paid what you get.

2 out of 5 eggsShady

Pros: Cheap and easy to use

Cons: -Poor audio quality on both cable and "multi" connector
-Bad video quality on cable input (might be my service though)
-Would not recommend for primary DVR

Other Thoughts: I bought this product to connect my PS2 to my laptop to use in place of a TV for a few months. (Long story) For this function, it works pretty well considering it is only a $xx card. However, the sound is pretty grainy, even on the RCA connection. The overall quality for cable TV input is extremely poor, to the point where you would not even bother using the DVR functions to record. I haven't gotten a chance to look at the S-video in, or stereo plug inputs.

So in conclusion, if you are looking for a relatively cheap temporary hardware hookup, this hardware will work for you. For any more advanced functions, or permanent use, I would recommend higher quality hardware.

1 out of 5 eggsits a rip off

Pros: NO pros its totally bad

Cons: lets see where to start. 1 the software is the worst that i have ever used. you can tell that the card is good. but the software to run the card is no good, whats the sense i having the hardware if you dont have the soft ware to run it. I am using a inspiron 1200 it was the last set of notebook dell had out and there seems to be a problem with dell computers and this card. read the other reviews. the tech support at Kworld is the worst, they never answer then phone. lol well there you have it if you still wanna buy this card its up to you but its a waste of money

2 out of 5 eggsKworld MCE200 Deluxe

Pros: Easy to install.

Cons: Not as good as advertise,

Other Thoughts: I'm still waiting for the $xx rebate after 18 weeks. Reseach on the net: it's take a miracle to get the rebate from Kworld.

1 out of 5 eggs

Comments: The card works nice. But there is a problem with the socket/plug-in for multi-cable and audio. The plug-in falls out and the connection for external earphones keeps breaking. Returned the item for replacement - thanks NewEgg. The second card has exactly the same problem with connection – a design flaw, bad quality of parts or both.

2 out of 5 eggsEasy setup, poor performance

Comments: I'm running windows xp on a toshiba satellite a75 with p4 3.2GHz, 500MB RAM so I'm definitely over the system requirements for this product (P3 800 MHz, 128MB RAM). Plug-in and installation are a breeze.

TV antenna reception is poor despite an excellent signal as tested on a real TV. There are 5-6 off color bars running vertically through the picture, most of which are concentrated on the right hand side. The picture is still viewable though.

Composite AV provided much greater clarity, but still had strange horizontal screen flickers every ~5 seconds.

S video was tested using a PS2 as input. The picture quality is much, much better than TV over-the-air reception, but still suffers from noticable lag during quick movements on screen (when playing NHL'06). At one point after playing for 10 minutes, the lag became tremendous (1sec screen freeze
every 5 sec).

The video problems are passable as one can still reasonably watch TV. However, the deal breaker for me is the annoying intermittent static coming out of the left speaker. This is in mono or stereo mode and even when no sound is being produced by any input device. This card definitely has issues with sound conversion.

All of the aforementioned audio/video problems are faithfully recorded by the capture software. The TV-OTA capture quality has added random splotches of video that go in and out on screen. I have not tried other capturing programs besides the bundled PVR-Plus to see if this would remedy the poor capture.

I would only get this card if you can get it incredibly cheap and don't mind sub-avg audio/video performance. In the end, you can still see/hear stuff on your laptop which is still cool - just not very well.
