Pros: The card works and saves my old Gateway MT laptop from the trash can. Works as advertised for the most part.

Cons: It will recognize anything except portable usb hard drives for me.

Other Thoughts: Only 4 eggs for no usb external hard drive support. Newegg's service was excellent with only 3 days from order to delivery. I wish to do business again.

Pros: Worked out of the box with Jaunty:

$ lsb_release -r
Release: 9.04

No reboot, no drivers to install. Just plug in and run. Plugged in USB printer, which works fine.

Cons: None yet.

Other Thoughts: Have not tested throughput, have not owned long enought to vouch for reliability.

Pros: Works with windows 7! Plugged it right in and looks like Windows 7 takes after XP and has the drivers preloaded onto it. Powers my wireless keyboards with integrated mouse joystick and thumb drive at one time with no problems.

Cons: It will power an external or enclosure HDD if you have a 1 A Male to 2 A male cable which means one A male plugs into HDD and two A male usbs into the PCMCIA usb card however its not stable. I am guessing it would work just fine if you had an external power supply for the card but in my case all my onboard USB slot are burnt out so it would not help me out.

Other Thoughts: Ordered this PCMCIA card because of a known over heating issue in the Acer Aspire 5100 WLMI that fries the south bridge chip which kills all usb, keyboard and touch pad functions and yet Acer refuses to fess up to their mistake and fix it. So was forced to get a PCMCIA usb card. Funny how it happened right after the 2 year warranty I purchased ended but that seems to be the case now a days...

This is a PCMCIA card not an express card so don't get confused.

I have only owned it for little under 2 hours and reason for 5 stars is easily because of it working so well with Windows 7 and saving my behind.
