Got a good monitor, but no TV? Like to see your game-boxes running on something other than your old 12a€? portable? Like to switch-hit between computer surfing, TV watching and game-box? Sounds like you could use one of these. It has a TV tuner for broadcast reception, will take multiple video sources including your PC, and has a TV/PC/VGA switch to change sources without swapping cables. Built-in speakers so you can hear what Jay Leno is saying, Picture in Picture (see specs for limitations), and the ability to preview up to twelve channels simultaneously.
Don't let your wallet be torn between getting a monitor for your computer or a TV for your David Letterman and game-boxes: get them all together with a monitor and this handy little gadget.
But don't let me pressure you. You're the boss; you check it out and you decide. We'll be waiting right here for you.

This is not a digital TV tuner
- Pros: Small and inexpensive
- Cons: This is not a digital tuner! This may be acceptable for some using cable but its quality is simply unacceptable in receiving over-the-air analog signals. This unit does not receive the 20 plus over-the-air digital channels in my area.
- Other Thoughts: I believe the manufacturer has obscured the fact that this is an analog tuner in order to liquidate its inventory. Newegg has been extremely helpful and has already sent an RMA to return this item. Thank you!
Researcher products heavily before purchasing.
FYI: I own and already use an HD TV antenna.
Charming little Gadget
- Pros: This product replaced my broken tv tuner and I have been impressed so far. The PIP is nice and the setup through the OSD was just as easy last time. What impressed me the most though was in this model was that it provides direct Wii support. The cable works perfectly with my Wii and the picture quality definitely looks clearly then when I had it hooked up via RCA cables to my tuner. Audio from the Wii also comes in clear as well.
- Cons: Ridiculously short cables provided. The 15-pin VGA and the power cable are only have 3-4 ft of cabling on them, so be prepared to change your setup a bit. (I had hopes of placing the tvbox a little higher up in my setup so I could get some better reception with the remote, but had to go back to placing it on top of my HTPC. Model is also light and can be dragged around by a heavy monitor cable. Also the remote feels cheaply made (cheap feeling plastic)
- Other Thoughts: Using the onboard audio switch seems to produce a noticeable amount of background noise (hissing, static crackling, etc) in my speakers (especially when in PC mode). I opted to buy a cheap Y splitter and place it at my speaker base and then connect my PC and the TVbox through the splitter. It got rid of the static noise, but I'm guessing because of the increased impedance from the 2 sources, I now have to jack up my volume to receive the same 'loudness'. Also remember PIP only works well at the max resolution of 1440x900 (60Hz). Overall, still a great product.

- Pros: does the job.
have playstation 2 and wii cable so you dont have to buy component cable
- Cons: buttons hard to press, and the menu is hard to use.
image quality... better forget it i tried it converting the ps2 component output, too much sawtooth
- Other Thoughts: Very cheap feeling. It claims to support 1080P output, but the actual resolution is 1920X1200, doesn't fit my monitor.
Works well if not picture quality crazy
- Pros: - Can connect game consoles easily and the included PS2 cable works well
- Eliminates need for separate TV - PiP between computer and tv makes for good multitasking or multi-procrastinating ;) - Works decently well for cable tv - Has held up well and is easy to move around with its small size
- Cons: - No PiP between different tv channels and no closed caption
- Short cables! - Built in speakers are pretty terrible, $5 speakers are probably better - There is definitely some ghosting from cable on certain channels, it may be the cable here though, so I don't blame it on the tuner. There is no issue like this with game consoles
- Other Thoughts: Although there are cons, I was able to work around them. I'm in a small room and don't have space for another TV. I've had tons of people amazed at my set up with xbox360 (component), ps2 (included cord), n64(composite), AND tv on my 17" monitor.
When I upgrade my monitor, I might look for a better way to get tv/the ports I need.
Works for NTSC cable TV
- Pros: Small. Works well for TV, i.e. NTSC (not digital) cable TV.
- Cons: Remote control didn't work at first... I had to replace the batteries (the batteries that came with it were dead or otherwise defective).
- Other Thoughts: I have used this thing for TV only, no gaming, with a 19" Dell monitor. Works fine for me with standard NTSC cable TV. I hooked it up to the following: AC power, monitor with VGA cord (not included), speakers, cable TV, and followed the directions for auto channel scan. In a minute I was watching TV.
