Pros: 1. Great deal. $50 for a RMVB player. No even Eb8y have deals like this. 2. Handles most video format without the need of converting. Yes it works with more formats than the WD media player which is selling for $99. 3. Small and does not overheat like my other players. 4. Installation is simple 5. Good value.
Cons: -Very simple interface. I wished it could be more colorfully. But it is easy to understand and use. -Had to change the Video settings. Originally is set as PAL by default so the device will play videos in black and white. Users need to be aware of this because unexperienced customers may think it is defective.
Other Thoughts: Finally newegg got a device capable of playing RMVB files. Why RMVB? These files are smaller in size but great in resolution and audio. A full length movie with 720p HDresolution can fit in less than 700 mb of space. Other players can decode these files on the fly.
I have been researching and buying RMVB players online. non of them gave me that much value as this unit. I pay more than 100 dollars to acquire some RMVB HDD players on eb8y and all of them end up overheating and dying eventually So I decided to get one without hard drive as this one. So far I am very happy and of course newegg always is a reliable seller.
Will try to see if it works with MKV and FLV.

Pros: Offers good video output options. Videos play smoothly from usb hard drive.
Cons: Remote could use a few more options such as slow/fast motion (needed for sports!). User documentation ok, but not great.
Other Thoughts: Been looking for a device like this to play videos directly from hard drive. This one works! I was concerned that the package did not mention vob file format support, but it does (mpeg2). My ripped movies start quickly and go through scenes without any hesitation.
Highly recommended. I'll try a usb stick soon for pics and the like. The card reader input will be great for camcorder movies to preview. I have other KWorld products, and they all work as claimed.

Great Media Player for $54

Pros: Played all of my XVID AVI videos and I was quite surprised to see that it also handled the ".srt" subtitle files in text format.
Cons: The subtitles were in a very small font and were hard to read, it would be nice if you could choose a font size. I have seen fonts in an outline (black/white) that would make things very readable.
Also, it would be nice if it could read music play lists, so I could load a bunch of music on an SD card and then have a half dozen different play lists that setup the order of the music to play.

Pros: small, inexpensive and seems to play most files ive used. remote is good...but must be pointed directly at the unit.
Cons: volume level no so great if not hooked to amplifier sync issues, and sometimes .avi files register as not valid..even when played fine on pc.
Other Thoughts: I would have given 5 stars, but maybe its just me but it seems to lose sync often. Could be a slow usb drive, im not sure but if i rewind and restart usually it will sync up. It is a pretty nice little unit for the price.
