4 out of 5 eggsWorks Nicely

Pros: I've read a lot of reviews of Rosewill products that really warned about their quality. I set up the card in a 1.7 P4 with 2 500 Gig SATA drives in Windows 2000 as a file server. I works wonderfully for my application

Cons: There a quite a few technical issues with getting this card in and running. If you not comfortable with computer BIOS settings as well as BIOS setting on the card, you I would stay away and consider buying a new system that has motherboard RAID

Other Thoughts: The card went in easily, but had to change the PCI port that I put it in because it didn't like the first one. Both drives connected easily with the included cables. BIOS set-up was straight forward though I had to change the computer BIOS as well as the RAID BIOS to get it up. No issues after that.

5 out of 5 eggsNo Problems

Pros: Worked well in my Dell XPS400, and works well now that I've transferred it to my Intel BOXDG965WHMKR motherboard. No issues of any kind, has worked with disks up to 1 tb, both an Hitachi Cinamastar, and a Seagate ST31000340AS.

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: None

1 out of 5 eggsAvoid This Product

Pros: Cheap and easy install.

Cons: This car would sometimes not work on of my PCI slots and I would have to go through the hassle of taking it in and out. I have also had to uninstall and reinstall this card many times for no know reason.

Other Thoughts: Avoid this product. It is very annoying to use and sometiems it does not work.

4 out of 5 eggsUbuntu Fakeraid

Pros: Low CPU usage required (raid1 setup), works under Ubuntu Server.

Cons: Ubuntu sees both drives even though they're set up to be seen as a single disk in the BIOS.

Other Thoughts: Even with the con, setup was quite simple.

4 out of 5 eggsIt works well

Pros: Onboard BIOS, recognized as a boot BIOS by even a Celeron 433MHz PC.

Fast, compatible, very easy to configure a RAID array in the BIOS.

Cons: The external SATA ports are NOT eSATA ports, they are just regular SATA ports. You will need a converter or dongle to be able to use eSATA equipment with this.

Other Thoughts: Use it for a 500GB RAID1 array in Windows 2000. 2k has no problems with this card that I've experienced, including booting a RAID array from it. The java-based configuration software to access the RAID settings/diagnostics in Windows though is slightly wonky though and a bit slow.

4 out of 5 eggsSweet sata card

Pros: WORKS WITH OPTICAL DISC DRIVES! Has external sata ports in addtion to the internals. Has hardware raid capability.

Cons: Not 3.0 sata. In order to enable the external sata ports you have to disable 2 of the internal ports. Max ports that can be in use is 4.

1 out of 5 eggs

Pros: None

Cons: This item is sold as having 2 External SATA ports, but in reality it has 2 internal connectors, so your external cable will not fit. This item will also lock up your XP computer. Don't waste you money!

Other Thoughts: Povide the correct cables to hook up your external hard drive.
