4 out of 5 eggsNOT SSI Compliant

Pros: Enermax quality, price, 4 rails. Tested in a desktop and it is a good unit, especially for SLI.

Cons: This is NOT SSI compliant. Does NOT work with server boards that require SSI compliance. It also does NOT fit in Supermicro cases. I had to drill holes in the back mounting tabs. Only to find out later that it does not work with my SuperMicro X5DPA-GG server board. I have submitted a ticket on the Enermax website. Never had to do that before and never had a bad Enermax PS. Hundreds in the field since 1998 and no failures or DOA. Hence the 4 stars. Will see how good Enermax support is. Perhaps the reviewers that were DOA had the same problem I did?

Other Thoughts: Another reviewer noted that it came in a brown box. I also thought that was odd, as I never bought an Enermax that did not come with a manual and retail box. It is a heavy power supply. I am taking it to my electronics repair guy and see if maybe we can switch some of the wires to SSI compliance, as I cannot RMA. Will post again when I get the real skinny as to why it is missing the white wire and what that extra wire is for.

Pros: none

Cons: DOA.. The motherboard power connector had an orange disconnected lead. System did not boot with this power supply, we used a test power supply and the system booted fine.

Other Thoughts: The box it came in was not the standard Enermax boxing I have seen in the past, it was white and looked beat to snot like it had been sitting in the warehouse too long. The outake fan looked as if it had been running in a dusty environment before we had ever bought this "new retail" power supply.

I have purchased and use Enermax power supplies in the past they work great! I'm not sure if this is an Enermax or Newegg mistake, after looking at the packaging and the disconnected lead, something doesn't add up. Will be RMAing the part on Monday.

5 out of 5 eggsNice, very nice

Pros: Great amps, pretty to look at.
I am very happy with the results.

Cons: Missing the EPS to ATX converter - a doodad I needed!

In all fairness, the manual details the pinouts to do the conversion, and it was fine in the end.

The 24 to 20+4 adapters and instructions were otherwise complete.

Other Thoughts: Oooooh, love the amps!

Pay attention though - this is NOT a straight ATX powersupply! If you cannot read and follow instructions, stay away.

4 out of 5 eggsWorked for me

Pros: It works. I never had a problem with it. I like the gold color.

Cons: Takes up a lot of space. I had to take out my top fan because it was so big.

2 out of 5 eggsDid not work for me

Pros: Wish i knew... it never worked... no go, no pros :)

Cons: Same as above... just hooked it all up, press the power button and a single tic... is all i heard.

Other Thoughts: this may be a very good power supply for it's intended design... SERVERS.. do not attempt to buy this for a gaming pc simply because it has a quad rail and good effeciency... the lower amperage output will read as a faulty/too weak signal to the motherboard... get a dual rail wit 18-20+ A rails

5 out of 5 eggsAmazed

Pros: Amazing power, built like a brick house, very versatile and fit my needs perfectly

Cons: Power is probably overkill, but I can't complain. A few more amps on the 1st and 4th 12V rail would have been nice, but not essential as the 2nd and 3rd put out 16amps which is plenty for SLI (which I'm not using, but will probably draw a lot of folks to this unit).

Other Thoughts: Using this in my SOHO server and I'm very impressed. This is my first Enermax product and I feel it was worth every penny. I concur with the other poster - the gold case is unique and I like it.

2 out of 5 eggsEnermax has fallen

Pros: Has capabilities for all types of installations. has all the cool gimmickey colored sleeving and gold colored case. It weighs alot so there must be good heat sinks. has quad 12v rails

Cons: It dident work. the 12v rails are only 12A - 15A each( compared to other gaming dual rails of 20A.) you have some extra connectors hanging in limbo like the 3.3v orange wire. enermax's Quality Control must be on vacation since the pin 2 conductor was squashed and would not stay in the 24 pin main

Other Thoughts: I have used Enermax loyally for years. i used to claim they were the best PSU's out there, But latley the quality has fallen. the last 3 PSU's have either blown-up, worked for only a month, or dont work at all. I have tried the highest rated to the most expensive and still no luck. its the typical corporate decission making as companies get bigger that make quality stuff turn into run-of-the-mill, SUB-OEM quality, dime-a-dozen, disposable, gimmicky, flimsey crud. they want it cheap to make and sell the name that they have built-up to buy low but charge high even if it ruins the name they created. i wonder if Enermax has been sold off or taken over by a large corporate company recently? the one who started the company must be ashamed...

4 out of 5 eggs

Pros: Enermax what else can I say. Lots of connectors everything you would need. Tons of power

Cons: Thing is huge. Be careful about cases with fans on top. Mine didn't fit without removing the top fan.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat PSU

Pros: -I actually really like the color of case. I put this into a Lian Li PC-60B Plus and it looks great.
-I haven't got to start my computer yet, waiting on the CPU, but I will review again when I do.

Cons: -It's heavy, even for a power supply (10 lbs), but who cares?

Other Thoughts: - If you plan on installing this in a mid-tower Lian Li case like I did, one that has a top exhaust case fan, you will have to take the fan grille off of the intake fan on this PSU. The PSU case and Lian Li case fan housing touch together because this PSU is a "Stretch PS2" sized powersupply, so it is longer than normal. I just took the grille off the PSU and put it onto the outside of a case fan, looks great and mounted fine after that.

5 out of 5 eggsGets the job done

Pros: Great power supply. SLI connectors for the gamers out there. 2 SATA power connectors are nice. Comes with adaptors for motherboard power connectors. Plenty of amps on the rails.

Cons: I dont know why Enermax was thinking with the brass colored caseon this. The sleeving on the cables is nice but makes it hard to hide cable messes.

Other Thoughts: Waiting to buy good Video card but here is my rig:

All that and ASUS probe reports 12.16 on the 12volt rail.

AMD X2 4400
2gb of XMS Corsair RAM
