Keep your system going with FSP's 300W OEM power supply. This is a great choice for upgrading an older system or if you just want a bit more power than came from the factory. Filled with new technology it's designed to keep you powered up into the future.
The first things you'll notice are the wide open grillwork on the back and the lack of a voltage selector switch. The PSU automatically detects the input voltage so you don't have to worry about it. The open grillwork at the back is hexagonal for maximum airflow from the 120mm fan.
It comes with the standard connectors, power, CPU, floppy and Molex. It also has 2 SATA connections so you can add faster drives to your system. The dual +12V rails ensure a balanced output.

The best you can get at this price point
- Pros: High efficiency, active PFC, very quiet fan. Automatic input voltage detection (no need to worry about kids moving the switch from 115 volts to 230). Cables long enough for medium tower case.
- Cons: (These were not cons for me, but they might be for some) No PCI-E connector, no sleeving on the cables, two SATA connectors only. Plain Jane metal box. OEM unit--you only get the PSU packed in bubble wrap and an AC power cord. NO mounting screws or instructions, so perhaps not the best choice for anyone installing a PSU for the first time.
- Other Thoughts: I was initially hesitant to buy a power supply at this price, but since it was for a backup machine I was not going to use all the time I figured, what the heck! Reviews on other FSP power supplies were favorable, so I decided to give it a try. I am very impressed. You cannot find a better PSU at this price point. The previous reviewers comment about no SLI or Crossfire support is not valid since both those standards specify at least 500W PSU capacity.
Green without Sacrificing Performance
- Pros: Highly efficient, Quiet, Speed adjusted fan, Cheap, Environmentally Friendly
- Cons: Loose wires, no SLI, no retail package or screws (makes it cheaper?)
- Other Thoughts: The unit is VERY quiet. I can't even hear it, and with the CPU fan installed, the more enclosed CPU fan/HD are actually more audible. I was hesitant to get a 300W, but it turned out to be more than enough for dual sata raid and a Athlon 64 x2 Brisbane HTPC. I imagine it should be enough for most, for its high efficiency makes the 300W a more substantial claim. It looks very utilitarian without frills, but it also feels very quality built. The unit is also fully recyclable and free of toxic materials, complying to various international standards. In the end, you get possibly the best you can get for the money while being green. You can't lose.

Great until it wasn't!
- Pros: Very quiet - I never noticed a noise coming from it.
Stable - never had issues, even when running full tilt Plenty of connections
- Cons: Pop, stink, buzzz! It died after 2 1/2 years. At least it didn't take any of the rest of the computer with it.....
- Other Thoughts: Looking at other reviews, it seems like anything after 2 years is borrowed time, but the warranty is only 1 year. You should be able to find something else in the same price range that might be more long lived.
long-lasting quietness!
- Pros: Active PFC, high efficiency, very quiet 120mm fan, the one i bought is not dead.
- Cons: 300w is not sufficient for recent machines.
- Other Thoughts: (I may be lucky and all of this may be anecdotal.)
I bought this PSU to replace a dead one of a different make on 7/10/2007. I have had no problems ever since, but rather have enjoyed its stability and especially its quiet.
To help those of you deciding if 300W is sufficient, this PSU supports: Abit NF7-S with Sempron @ 2.0Ghz 1.5GB DDR @ 400Mhz 3x IDE disks, 1 optical drive, 1 floppy 1 AGP NVS 280SD 2 soundcards, and USB controller, not including those which are built in to the Abit
...and this machine is generally on all the time; i.e. occasions for which it is likely to go down are power outages or graduating and moving off-campus.
Basic Power Supply
- Pros: Inexpensive and well made. Supplied with quiet 120mm Adda brushless ball bearing fan. Honeycomb pattern o air vents cut down on noise.
- Cons: Not a con, but leads are not wrapped, but at this price-point, its not expected.
- Other Thoughts: Much better than stock PSUs shipped with older Dell and HP machines.
