Excellent PSU for average systems
- Pros: -No DOA
-Works quietly with fairly stable voltages -Excellent for average machines with no real power hungry parts -Would probably be fine in a budget gamer/CAD computer -FSP has yet to let me down
- Cons: -Some of the cables could be short in a large case
-Shipping is getting pricey on these
- Other Thoughts: I bought this to have in stock for when a customer's PSU died. I have installed this version twice, and the 300watt version once, and the one I installed a year ago still plugs away, and the two I recently installed went without a hitch. However, these were all used in low stress scenarios. I don't think I'd pair this up with a video card that takes any more power than an AMD 4670, but it should be perfect for an average consumer machine or old machine PSU replacement.
For cheap old computer PSU replacement, I wish there was something cheaper I could trust, but I have had very hit or miss luck in the sub $20 arena, so I'd rather pay a bit extra so I don't have to do the same job twice, then look bad. :)
WILL NEVER DIE
- Pros: just insane, worked awesome for around a year, then my dad threw down a hallway and the psu took 90% of the damage AND IM STILL USING IT
- Cons: since it was thrown makes a weird sound and screws dont line up cuz case is bent but awesome psu
- Other Thoughts: unbelieveable!!!
- Pros: it was cheap, installed fast, it works, and most of all it arrived the next day!
- Cons: short molex connectors. my case is 17"x17". the PSU is in the upper rear, and the HDDs are in the lower front. i had to mount one of my HDDs in the floppy rack to power everything. I'm never gonna use that sata line.
- Other Thoughts: Blew out the original FSP 300w PSU that came with the computer, don't push the power button while its unplugged! Bought this one and went in no problem, fired up right away, its even quieter then the old one. only thing that kept it form getting the 5 star was the short molex, but its still a darn good unit. I would definitely recommend this PSU to anyone who needs a PSU on a budget. great buy, so get it already!
