Keep your system going with FSP's SAGA+ 450W Max power supply. This is a great choice for upgrading an older system if you want to keep your old case. Filled with new technology, it's designed to keep you powered up well into the future. Greater than 70% efficiency and 1W standby mode will help save you money on your electric bills.
The back of the housing is a hexagonal mesh to maximize airflow from the 120mm fan. The large openwork will also minimize air noise caused by the fan. Advanced thermal monitoring circuitry keeps the PSU regulated for efficient performance.
It comes with the standard connectors, power, CPU, floppy and Molex. It also has 2 SATA connections so you can use today's high speed drives. Dual +12V power rails ensure a balanced power output. A 6 pin PCIe connector feeds extra power to your video card.
Pros: Fortron power supplies are one of the few that I trust with my power needs. They are very reliable, have stable power output and great efficiency under load. Two year MFG warranty as well. I have been using FSP power supplies for years now and have had VERY few (maybe 3 out of 50) blow or burn out over the years. These do have overvolt protection so if they do blow they don't take out your computer with it; that's a definite plus...
Cons: None
Other Thoughts: If you don't care about warranty, you can find this exact same power supply branded under Sparkle (FSP's OEM brand name) for a few bucks less; same specs and all. For the little price difference, don't skimp on your power supply.. Cheap power supplies may cost you in the long run...

Pretty solid

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: i've had this psu since 2005. I'd say this psu is pretty rock solid based on this. Nothing stronger than a Athlon xp 3000+ and a agp 9600 ati video card so the amps on the 12v are sufficient for me as well.
Cons: Can't think of any, i've moved this psu around 3 different towers over the years and i never complained about it

RAM issues
Reviewed By: on 9/17/2009
Tech Level: average - Ownership: 1 month to 1 year
This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: Solid weight.
Cons: The RAM I had on hand that was not specifically listed on board manufacturer's (Intel) supported product list would not work with this PSU. RAM had worked with previous PSU (replacing owing to fan problems). No longer sure whether I tested the RAM with the new Ultra PSU (replacing this replacement; Ultra works fine), so I don't know whether it's dead.
