Good stable hub
- Pros: I've got three USB devices (Bluetooth headset adapter, smart card reader, ATI Remote Wonder receiver), and two Firewire devices (both external drives) connected.
In over 18 months, I haven't had any issues with connections dropping or lost.
- Cons: It's a little light (weight-wise) - I had to connect it to the provided base and then tie it down so it it wouldn't get dragged away by the wires.
- Other Thoughts: Not sure if it is a pro or con, but the lights on the front are pretty useless. I haven't seen them blink or do anything besides go off when I reboot my machine and the USB systems are reset.
Unreliable product
- Pros: When it worked, it worked very well.
- Cons: Firewire quit working one month after the warranty died. It died the rest of the way shortly after that. It's now a paperweight.
- Other Thoughts: For the reviewers that thought this product would let you use Firewire products through a USB connection, that's not how things work. It's two separate hubs in one package.
Firewire never worked.
- Pros: It has USB and Firewire(supposedly)
- Cons: The Firewire did not work. I hooked up the USB 2.0, assuming the firewire would work. I do not know why it would not. Documentation with the product is very limited. Intending on getting with product manufacturer for replacement.
- Other Thoughts: Mine came with firewire DOA. USB works fine though
