- Pros: The LEDs were pretty nice, especially the orange light indicating data transfer
- Cons: This enclosure failed on me and won't work any more. Be careful with this one.
No Problems
- Pros: I have been using one of these for over six months, and I've sold a few others. They work great.
Low price.
- Cons: Not the nicest looking enclosure, but they do the job.
- Other Thoughts: There are two LEDs that make a nice nightlight. But it is easy enough to pull the connector for one and snip the wire pair on the other if you don't want the light and power draw. The upright stands keep the whole thing cooler. I've been running my laying flat for 7 months with no problem, so it is not necessary to use the vertical mounting feet.
Works Great
- Pros: This enclosure is great I got a PCMCIA to eSATA card for my gaming laptop and moved all my games to the hard drive that this enclosure contains. With a true SATA connection beats USB 2.0 and Firewire with ease. As for the looks, I did not put it on the little plastic rails that it came with, it’s just laying there flat, and the lights look pretty sweet.
- Cons: Kind of plastic-like feeling on the ends and sides, but the aluminum guts make it pretty solid. The internal connectors have a rather long cable attached but I managed to squeeze them in.
- Other Thoughts: Works great for looks, as for performance I don't have another similar eSATA device to compare to but it’s a simple eSATA to eSATA bridge so I can't see there being a performance hit there. Overall a great product (If you like red and blue LEDs)
