Pros: This is an excellent choice for a general-purpose DVD, from a _manufacturer_ of this media. There are very few such manufacturers in business today. For example, Sony does _not_ manufacture DVDs which it sells under the Sony brand name. In the past, at least, Ritek has (unbeknown to almost everyone) supplied Sony with its DVD-RW 2x blank discs.
Currently, at least, Ritek appears to have finally got its act together (although I am keeping my fingers crossed!) insofar as quality control is concerned. I have burned a large number of discs from this company, either under its own name or those which it has furnished under some brand name or other, with very, very, very few "coasters."
But then, _I_ know what I am doing and how to do it.
Cons: Ritek is currently undertaking a massive overhaul of its extensive product line. DVD package sizes are changing, and some are, without any warning or explanation, disappearing from sight. One may buy one size, one day, at a very good price (How can they sell these so cheaply), only to come back the next day to buy some more and find out that this particular product is no longer available.
After the shakedown (no estimate how long this may take, of course with no acknowledgement from Ritek), it may well happen that Ritek will abandon many direct sales to consumers, in order to avoid competing with its sales to brand-name distributors, such as Sony, Office Depot, etc., etc.
So hurry on over to Newegg (special deals, shell-shockers, etc.) to stock up before the party is over :-).
One final note of caution: for unexplained reasons, some Ritek DVDs have lines on the front side which aid immensely when writing on the discs with felt markers. No comment when I asked them!
Other Thoughts: Here is a BIGGIE! I was absolutely "shell-shocked" to find that the two 100-packs of Ritek discs in this current order were _double-boxed_. The FIRST TIME EVER!! Hopefully, those folks in Newegg's shipping department will (in 5 years?) learn how to STUFF (repeat: STUFF) the fill space with foam beads, as opposed to just LOOSELY throwing in a few of these beads. Apparently no one has taught these people that "fill" space really means FILL! Really.
I guess that progress comes in small steps, heretofore at less than snail's pace :-). I had all but given up buying internal hard drives from Newegg, for fear that the failure to properly package them against shipping damage would result in an RMA and all of the attendant hassle and cost.

Pros: Very good product for the price. I ran 3000 of these and only had 3 bad disks of of the 3000.
Cons: None at this point. Seems to be a great product.

Pros: cheap, discs would burn and verify data fine, maybe 1 or 2 coasters out of the 50 or so that i've used so far
Cons: ripped a dvd to my computer, watched it fine from my computer, proceeded to burn the movie to dvd, burned ok and verified data ok, put the disc directly into my aluminum cd/dvd storage case and there it sat for about a week, then my brother wanted a copy of the movie, so I take it out and begin to copy the dvd when I get a crc error, ok tried it in my 2nd dvd drive and got another crc error, ok tried it in my laptop and got another crc error, so I clean the disc and also clean my dvd drives and retry to copy the movie in all drives and same thing crc error, so I am thinking it has some corrupt data on the disc, so that one goes in the trash and I was able to copy the movie from an original but it just left me with an unsure feeling, so I begin to check the rest of the blank dvd's in still in the spindle, all of them appeared to have some sort of liquid spilled on the bottom of them and I mean as if they got wet during production then sat out to dry then packaged,
continued below
Other Thoughts: and when I say they had liquid spilled on them I don't mean like a nice even coat, I mean random, non-uniform patterns, almost like a paintball splatter, so after looking through about 20 of my remaining blank dvd's I come across one that has a tiny little what looks like a burn that goes through the bottom of the disc and it was about the size of a pinhole. I will not purchase these dvd's again, only verbatim or TY.
Now to get my moneys worth, I just use these dvd's to burn for my friends only, because everybody has some of those friends that want you to burn them dvd's and they assume that you have a tree that grows dvd's and never seem to give you any money for them...
