Enclosure... or weapon
- Pros: looks good with its blue L.E.D lights, fan is quiet enough, works as expected, very configurable, holds 3.5 inch drives too
- Cons: a little bigger than i expected, feels really cold
- Other Thoughts: so big and heavy and cold that you can knock out someone with it... and still use the drive you have inside afterwards :)
Solid Service for over a year
- Pros: Solid construction, good looks and cool performance. I stripped a drive out of a failed Maxtor case and popped it in this MAPOWER enclosure and have not had any problems. It will be two years ago this month!
- Cons: I like the blue lights
NO PLEXTOR SUPPORT
- Pros: Looks Awsome, Very Good Heat Dissapation for long burning sessions, Very good design!
- Cons: hmmm..... Where to start.
#1. NO PLEXTOR SUPPORT, there usb and firewire Genesys drivers does not have c2 detection, so when you plug this into your pc, it shows up as a "usb mass storage device" but it will not operate. Tested 5 different plextor drives in it, px-712, px-716, px-760a, px-800a and px-820a, a with the same problem. Did test a IDE HDD, that did work.
#2. Power cable is too short, i bought 2 of these and the power leads were streched tight, will be like this for and far right powered drives.
#3. NO TECHNICAL support what so ever. Send a message and wait...... wait some more.......... maybe they will get back to me within this century........
