- Pros: Works well for transferring data from laptop HDDs to a desktop computer without having to connect to the desktop internal IDE connector.
- Cons: included USB cable is cumbersome to use, if the HDD is swapped frequently the plastic tabs the screws screw into will strip and break but the device overall is still functional.
Wow!
- Pros: Owned one of these cases for about 2 years now, Can't believe they still sell.
Rugged little case, lasted longer than the first drive I put in there (20g) and is working quite well with my new one (60g) No problems with the connection speed nor power. worked well with vista and XP computers with little downtime.
- Cons: one of the plastic screw mounts on the front broke off. but it holds the cover snug still.
- Other Thoughts: I used a band of electrical tape on the midsection of the HDD as it does move around a tiny bit. not to worry I like having enough room to be comfortable. and it's a easy fix.
Bytecc ME enclosure
- Pros: Really none cause it was not compatible with Vista.
- Cons: Not compatible with Vista, you get what you paid for, lesson learned. Case will not hold the hardrive inside, felt it was moving.
- Other Thoughts: I sent the product for refund and ordered an Next Star enclosure , 100% recommended. Comes with everything you need, Fully compatible with Windows Vista or XP. FAST transfer rate, very nice looking, much more tough, and secure the hardrive all the way around. It can get better than this, best bang for the buck.
