- Comments: Got this power supply for christmas. Lasted about a year, then my computer started shutting off randomly. Unplugged from the motherboard to find out that it had burned 3 of the pins off, destroying my motherboard and the power supply.
- Comments: I just ordered this a few days ago, it came a day early (apparently most newegg orders do). I was a bit nervous about buying a fairly low priced psu, however, I have had absolutly no problems with it. It has plenty of power connections (although they are long enough that they could get in the way in a really small case). At low fan speed, which is plenty for my computer, it is vertially silent (it is quite loud when the fan is turned all the way up, however, I don't think this should be necessary for all but the most extreme gamer. (Yes, I know it has two fans, but the interior one is not manually adjustable.) I am replacint the 250 watt (no, thats not a typo) psu in my Dell Dimension 8300 (incidentally, what was Dell thinking? the puny psu it came with was pathetic). And, for those of you with dells, you need to make sure your's takes a regular psu before trying to upgrade, most of them don't (the 8300 is an exception). Now, back to the topic, it's a great psu, especially for the price!
Strange failure
- Comments: This power supply worked well in my computer for almost 2 years. Then, all of a sudden, it died, taking the processor with it. Other than that, it was OK, but noisy.
