5 out of 5 eggsSolid Power

Pros: Plenty of cables and good variability between SATA and molex connections. Plenty of power for most computing applications. Active PFC and reasonable price. Practically silent operation even with the two 80mm fans.

Cons: No modular cabling. This makes difficult to get unused cables out of the way which can cause obstructions to the air flow inside the case.

Other Thoughts: Rather heavy PSU. This is generally a sign of quality in PSUs, the heavier they are, the better the solid state components used (capacitors, copper coils etc). This is typical of Enermax and a few others. Solid, quality PSU.

1 out of 5 eggsCannot be explaied merely by luck.

Pros: Inexpensive, appears to be well built, plenty of connectors. It isn't encrusted with unnecessary LEDs. Companie's RMA policy is good, even if the turnaround is slow.

Cons: I have had four (yes, four) examples of this model. I bought two, and installed one in my computer. It ran flawlessly for about nine months, then died inexplicably. I'm not a gamer, and wasn't doing anything particularly intensive. I installed the spare and it died after one week(!) I RMA'd both units, and when the replacements arrived, one was DOA. I left the other one in the box until yesterday when I needed a spare ... it doesn't work either.

Other Thoughts: Enermax is, or use to be a good company. I have a 300W PSU of theirs from 1999 or so, and it still works perfectly. My experience with this particular model has been sufficiently terrible that I no longer trust this company's products.

1 out of 5 eggsDOA Again!

Pros: None - received first PSU, worked about 1 day, then would no longer turn on. Received replacement unit, worked about 1 hour, then would not turn on. Dropped in my old PSU and system works fine. Except loud - I selected the Enermax to get rid of the noise.

Cons: Hard to describe beyond avoid these units - 2 strikes and you are out!

Other Thoughts: Requested newegg to replace with a Rosewill RD400-2-SB which is almost 1/3 the cost, and also very quite.

5 out of 5 eggsSimply the Best

Pros: Quiet. High efficiency. Reliable. Excellent quality.

Cons: None.

Other Thoughts: This is my third Enermax Noisetaker and so far they have all been excellent.

When I've used other brands of PSU's the fans spin at max RPM casuing a lot of noise, but because the Noisetaker has a speed control switch the PSU is almost silent yet still delivers sufficient cooling. I highly recommend this series of power supplies.

4 out of 5 eggsWiring

Pros: Excellent PS unit so far. I had issues with the 2-1/2 year old PS that came with the Antec Sonata II.

Cons: The wiring isn't very logic. I rather would have seen 2 leads with 2 or even 3x SATA power, 1 lead with 3 or 4x 4-pin power and 1 lead with 3x 4-pin and floppy power.

Other Thoughts: I hope this PS is worth its price and will last me for at least 3 years.

5 out of 5 eggsVery Nice Indeed!!!

Pros: Enermax RoX!!!

Solid and Stable. Purchased it becuase my friend Newmaxx said Enermax were off the chain. HE WAS RIGHT! I didn't need much power and 420 was it with the dual rail and..i'm not going to bore you with my ranting about how great this one is, just know that the specs are spot on! ;)

Cons: Wasn't Free.

4 out of 5 eggsWire routing hard but all is fine now

Pros: Moderate price; moderate power; high % efficiency; quiet & adjustable; SLI PCIe capable; SATA and IDE OK; Newegg gave small discount

Cons: OEM cable bundling causes a mess because CPU and ATX4p (aux. GPU 4pin) are not on same tail and yet share tails with other connectors. This pulls almost all the cables out to the center of board away from the drives. I used an extension cable to help maintain airflow over northbridge/CPU.

Other Thoughts: Recently this seems Enermax upgraded from 18A to 20A so this is now SLI capable. Enermax has specs for both old & new on their site, it was Newegg's info which made me consider this PSU otherwise I would have missed it. Study your required connectors before buying this, I needed 1 more "peripheral" since mobo used one for ATX4p and I have 2 HDD, 2 ATAPI. My PCIe plugs are unused, the GPU doesn't need it after all.
