Antec's TruePower Quattro series heralds the arrival of the new generation of power supplies! Four +12V rails let you distribute your power more evenly, for a more stable system. The 1000-watt Antec TPQ-1000 provides serious power for even the most cutting edge components. The Active PFC design and 80 mm low noise fan provides reduced vibration, lower noise emission, efficient cooling, and incredibly enhanced performance. Universal Input and ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V v2.91 compliance ensures you can use the TPQ-1000 almost anywhere.
The 80PLUS certification means the Quattro consumes about 33% less energy than many equivalent power supplies with the same power output. With an MTBF of 100,000 hours, your TPQ-1000 will be around for a long time to come. With one main connector (20 + 4 pin), one 12V (4-pin), one 12V (8pin), nine Molex, eight SATA, two floppy, and four PCI-E (2 x 6-pin, 2 x 8-pin) connectors you can wire in all of the necessary pieces for a killer PC.
Industrial grade components provide stable and unflappable output and protection against power and voltage surges. It sports four +12V outputs (12V1, 12V2, 12V3, 12V4) to power the most killer system you can build. The modular cables are sleeved and labeled to give your system a clean and professional look, while the racing stripe paint job will add some extra style. Get one today, and let your foes feel your power!
Other Thoughts: for everyone that's having the power supply issue with the 8800gtx. i hope you are connecting the wires correctly. only 1 8 pin PCI-E 8 connector is used per video card from the base power supply. (meaning the that one that can't be detatched). the other PCI-E connector is from the RED PORT which you will find as a detachable cable.

Pros: Plenty of power. Modular cables so that you can use only the ones you need and minimize excess wire management and air flow problems. Average in size (i was under the impression that this unit was larger than normal for some reason). Racing stripes!
Cons: None yet.
Other Thoughts: After reading the reviews here i was very nervous about getting this power supply since i was also purchasing an 8800GTX. Fortunately, for whatever reason, i was able to connect it with the two 8 pin PCI-E power connectors (by bending the extra two pins aside and plugging in the 6). It started right up and i had no issues. System specs: Asus Striker Extreme, Antec TPQ-1000, Intel Q6600 CPU, BFG 8800GTX, 2GB Crucial RAM.

Another death in the family

Pros: Great supply, ran perfectly for 13 months
Cons: BLEW UP! The flash was visible rooms away and I had to check my son's face for flash burns. I have NO idea if the motherboard is live, I will have to buy a new supply for that.
Other Thoughts: For the price I would expect an instant RMA, so far no response.

Cons: I first bought a 850W psu from antec which blew in under a year they sent me the 1000W as a RMA which blew a couple mins ago with about 6 months of use.... just in time for sc2... stay clear from antec
Other Thoughts: RMA process took 5 weeks after a ticket was processed....

Pros: Nice and long cables. Packaging is nice. Casing looks really nice. Everything started out good...and then... As other stated. It died on my after about 5 months of use.

Cons: My main rig is down while I RMA and replace the power supply.
Other Thoughts: I will probably replace this with a Corsair (which was my first choice - I just didn't want to spend the extra money). I have two other Corsair TX 750's that run 24/7 and have not had a single issue with them (after one+ year of usage)

Pros: Looks nice. Modular cabling is a plus. Worked fine, when it was working.
Cons: As others have stated, it popped and smoked after only 5 months of use!! Just read all of the reviews here!! Stay away from it.
Other Thoughts: I am a tech by trade, and I built a $4000 gaming computer for a friend. And trusted this name. I'm now crossing my fingers that nothing else was fried during the power supply failure. Ordered a different brand to replace. Will RMA the Antec and sell it once it comes in. Never again!
