Pros: Works. USB Connectors. All my keyboard keys are recognized through the KVM. Works fine with my Mac too. Cheap with the rebate. Works fine with my 1440x900 resolution on both my Mac and PC. Not ugly??
Cons: No keyboard shortcut to switch computers - have to press the button on the KVM with my toe, lol. It doesn't constantly power the USB connection so when you switch computers it makes the USB Unplugged and USB Recognized sound in Windows. The KVM Cables aren't as long as other KVM's I've used but I didn't run into a problem in my setup. It might be listed in the specs, but I would eyeball the cables as 3-4 feet long. Not enough real cons to make me mark it down a star.
Other Thoughts: I've only been using it about an hour, but baring the thing breaking I can't see how it is less than a 5 star product for the price.

This user purchased this item from Newegg
Pros: No lag in response time as far as keyboard and mouse input.
No video degradation.
Cons: Cords should be longer
Other Thoughts: I was originally concerned about using a kvm switch while gaming because of reading previous reviews that said there were issues while pushing multiple buttons at the same time. I've used this kvm for several months now with absolutely no issues when it comes to gaming.

Cons: - You have to use at least 1 usb, even if you do not want to use keyboard/mouse through switch -it gets power from usb - Longer cables do not work with it, signal degrades very fast and is lost at ~3feet increase - You can only switch monitors using the button on top of the unit, no keybindings
Other Thoughts: if you do not care much about quality of the signal or the length of cables this is a perfect fit. Otherwise maybe spend a bit more on higher quality item. I got it for work, so it was perfect for me.
Manufacturer Response:Thank you for choosing IOGEAR and sorry about your experience. You are correct that the KVM uses power from the USB; therefore, if you wish to use a KVM that is self-powered, you can take a look at our GCS1732, which is a desktop version of a 2-Port VGA KVM switch. Also, the cables on GCS1732 are longer than the GCS42UW6’s and it has hotkey switching feature. In terms of video signal degrades, since VGA is an analog signal, it is his nature to degrade through distance. I am not sure if the 3ft cable you mean the console to monitor cable, it should not cause any degrading in this kind of short cable. We would suggest you to try a different cable and see if it’s the cable’s problem. I have attached the newegg link for GCS1732 for your reference. If you have any further question, please feel free to contact our tech support at 1(866)946-4327 and we would be glad to assist you. Once again, thank you for choosing IOGEAR.
Pros: it works, and connects both keyboard & mouse to one usb connection.
Cons: it disconnects the keyboard/mouse from one computer when you switch control to the other. This lags my computers while they have to detect the "newly connected devices"
Other Thoughts: I am not using the vga option. Started having slight issues with the box not being recognized until I replugged it..happened once though
-1 for disconnecting from device not in use.
