2 out of 5 eggsNow its bad

Pros: Worked flawlessly since 2005. Installed with ASUS A8N32-deluxe SLI; AMD 64 4400+; 7800GT X 2; 4SATA HDD; fans; lights -- Ran 24/7 for 8 years without a problem until ...... see below.

Cons: Now 1 year after the 7 year warranty ends, the +5vsb (standby voltage) has dropped to 4.5v. At load it drops further to 4.35v. It will not power on the ASUS board with front switch. It will power on with "paper clip jumper" trick but would not boot to BIOS on this board. 2 other PSUs showed 5vsb with no drop and booted the ASUS board to BIOS and windows. Guess I got my $$$$ worth? Have other PSUs older than 7 years that still run fine and no 5vsb drop.

Other Thoughts: The weird thing is this PSU will power on a Dell inspiron MOBO with similar AMD CPU as in the ASUS. In this MOBO the 5vsb does not drop to 4.35v like the ASUS and stays around 4.5v. Still at 4.5v it is out of spec and is a 10% drop. The 5vsb shoudl stay at 5v +/- 5% not 10% or more.

5 out of 5 eggsAwesome PSU

Pros: Everything

Cons: Nothing

Other Thoughts: I've had this PSU since 2005 and it's still going strong in my AMD 939 Opteron system. I cound't have bought a better PSU.

5 out of 5 eggsSuperior!

Pros: I am lucky enough to use on in my mods. I have the extra external adjustable rail voltage controllers.
Its built like a dream and has NEVER let me down (even though I have installed it in many modded comps)

Cons: None

Other Thoughts: be careful of other PSs that cant actually run their rated specs. This one can exceed them.

5 out of 5 eggsRock Solid

Pros: The most underestimated part of a computer. I am so happy I bought this over 1 1/2 years ago. In Florida we have heavy lightning storms, and this beauty has protected my investment three times already.

Cons: Absolutely none!

5 out of 5 eggsTurbo-Cool

Pros: First ever SLi certified PSU, tight rails, 510 continuous minimum at 50c, 650 max.

Cons: No case sticker, but comes with a movable nVidia SLi Ready sticker.

Other Thoughts: Is the backbone of my system:

AMD 64 X2 3800+ oced to 2.2 ghz, ASUS A8N-SLi Deluxe, BFG 7900 GTX OC, 74gb Raptor, 2x 250gb Caviar's, Dual layer DVD drive, FDD, and a Creative SB Audigy 4

5 out of 5 eggsBetter than best

Pros: Wow! I came into this knowing this was an extremely good PSU, but I was just blown away when it arrived! It comes in a gargantuan, well-insulated box. Everything about this product screams quality. The cooling fan is a Delta for crying out loud!

Cons: Cons? Hmm. It didn't hide the wiring for me. Harumph!

Other Thoughts: Some say it's expensive, but I feel this is of such good quality that it is justifiable.

5 out of 5 eggsUpdate @ 6 months

Pros: Its still the best power supply i have owned...

Cons: Im doing this update because im upset about how the power cord is on myne, it is easily knocked lose if i have to dig around my cords back there..

Other Thoughts: Still amazing, not a single con i have found other than the one stated...Worth every penny i paid for which was a bit more than its pricepoint now.

5 out of 5 eggsGreat psu

Pros: Good stable voltage on the 12v line. This psu is a beast it can handle a dual core processor and a 7800gtx no problems.

Cons: None other than very heavy.

Other Thoughts: Fit in my case without having to remove the top fan. And to the people below this thing isn't loud at all it's quiet compared to the other fans I have on my rig.

3 out of 5 eggsloud and a vga line failure

Pros: Stable voltages, sufficient amps for what i use (light gaming, internet, CAD). more cables then I will ever use. fan blows out air like mad.

Cons: First off, this is another review on the product. The fan is extremely loud, sounds like a jet engine and i could here the darn thing from my living room. Another thing is that after 3 months, one of the pci-ex connectors failed on me. I was reformatting one day and all of a sudden i get blue screens like now tomorrow. i thought it was the mobo or something else. but i found it is was one of pci-ex power connectors. Glad i have two so i could use the other one.

Other Thoughts: I fixed the loud fan problem by unplugging the 80mm fan inside and putting a 80mm to 120mm fan adapter on the outside. yes is sounds really ghetto, but the 120mm fan sucks two time more air outta the psu and its really quiet (21 db) comapred to the stock fan. I can barely hear it when im typing this review now.
